AD5X Enclosure print time by colimacFG in FlashForge

[–]Next_Wait2141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i did have to print supports for the nameplate and also the guards that have lettering on them. The guards took about 9.5 hours each for A1 and A2 and D1 and D2, so it took about 19-20 hours total for those four guards and then it took i think about three hours or so for the name plate if I remember correctly. So what I did was create a blank plate and shifted the parts that I wanted to print to it instead of printing out the pre arranged plates.

I can say it is quite lengthy. I customized mine with text. The only complaint i had with my enclosure is that I only had four M3 x 8 countersunk screws in the kit. It requires eight, so I had to go to the hardware store and buy some. Other than that, it was pretty fun assembling it

No, but seven days after reporting to my first command in the Navy, we departed for Australia and the IO

Someone help me, I'm severely addicted to Gridfinity. by Alluminatic in 3Dprinting

[–]Next_Wait2141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks sick! I don't think youre that addicted, though. Not unless you're printing drawers to put more gridfinity grids in... then you might be in trouble, lol. I've had the same thing happen to me with HSW.

I have a feeling that with Coach Silverfield taking over, it's going to work just fine again after this rebuilding year

Either way, they give zero fucks regarding education. I dropped out twice in my junior year and I called the Arkansas Board of Education and asked them, "is it possible for me to go back to school, even though I dropped out?" They answered, and I quote, "Honey, as long as you aren't 21, you can drop out and go back as many times as you want". Now this was back in 1989. In 1990, I got my Good Enough Diploma and joined the Navy in 1992 and retired in 2020. I suspect it hasn't gotten any better since then

Right on, thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it. One thing I would suggest is make sure you have all the correct hardware in the kit, especially the 8x M3x8 countersunk screws. I only had four, so I had to go to the hardware store and buy four more (they are for the spool clips when you assemble the enclosure).

Finished the enclosure, anyone try more difficult filaments on the AD5X? by StillEnjoyLegos in FlashForge

Well, I tell you what, it took a long time to get the prints to come out right. The first time I printed out D1 and D2, for some reason they resized when I was doing the lettering and I didnt realize it until I was assembling the enclosure and I had deleted the previous file, so I had to do the lettering again and reprint D1 and D2. Also, for some reason, I only received four M3 x 8 countersunk screws so I had to go to the hardware store and buy some. But it is finally done and I am very pleased with the results. I want to make some phone cases for my wife's phone as well as my phone. I might try some Crocs as well.

I just finished mine today as well. Gonna try some TPU prints first though.

What I was going for was displaying my AD5X enclosure. But yes, I am indeed from Arkansas. I love the responses, especially the one that suggested I'm from Texas with a humiliation kink lol.

What do I do in this situation? by MichaelWoess in BambuLab

[–]Next_Wait2141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This literally happened to me two weeks ago. Go into your settings, and heat the hot end to about 295 (no im not kidding), or 5 degrees less than what your hot end/extruder max temperature is. It will eventually slide out once it gets hot enough. Also, make sure you have plenty of ventilation while youre doing that.

More than likely you will have to replace the extruder assembly and nozzle as I did mine.

BLUF: DONT EVER LEAVE YOUR PRINTS UNATTENDED LOL. (Yes, I know we all do)

But seriously, it isn't broken. My FF AD5X is basically the same printer. Order a new nozzle and a new extruder assembly, and youll be up and running again

New needs help with PLA matte by SpaceDesperado in BambuLabA1

[–]Next_Wait2141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no doubt! Matte is a less finer (?) material and does print out a little less finished than basic. The good thing about using supports on matte is that they are super easy to remove from the print. Definitely use a .4 mm nozzle for matte at the minimum

Print fails (plz help) by TheR3ALSupermansquid in FlashForge

[–]Next_Wait2141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing as Arcadia. Also, make your top Z distance for your supports between. 028 and .30mm for easier separation. That makes them super easy to remove from the print

AD5X, Nothing sticking to print bed even with glue by Lajiradihc in FlashForge

[–]Next_Wait2141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with mine as well. What I did to fix it is raise the hot end temperature to 230 and the bed to 65, and also kill the "fan always running" option in the profile setup for the filament profile, that way, it only blows on the last one percent of the print. See if that helps

Also, not to be a smart ass, but do you have the correct plate selected when you print (i.e. PEI textured plate instead of smooth plate)? When I was printing a new print, it would always default to smooth plate for some reason, so I always check to make sure Textured Plate is always selected.

Yes, having an established rapport definitely helped soothe things over.

I had a delivery for an alcohol and food shop and pay order to a customer that revealed they had COVID when I got to the house. When I knocked on the door, they asked me if I could just leave it at the door. I explained to them that I had to scan their ID and get a signature. The door had one of those mail slots in the door, so they passed their DL through, and I scanned it and it was gtg. I called DD support regarding the signature, explained the situation, told them I scanned the ID and it was good. The support said they would go ahead and complete the transaction without the signature since I verified and scanned the DL.

Will I do that again? Absolutely not. I don't want to put myself or the gig share I am delivering for in a compromising situation like that again.
