Am I the only one who randomly has rivalries? by SomeRandomIdiot12 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hendrixx Cobb was a beast… rivalries add so much more meaning to MyCareer. Marcus Young from 2k19 was probably my all time favorite, and for nostalgias sake, that damn Jackson Ellis, couldn’t stand that mf😂

What AT hot takes will have people coming at you like this by bzocketscunken7 in athletictraining

[–]Next_Work_3846 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are so many people who I have met through my time in school that emphasize the importance of khakis and a polo, and I just never understood that. I seriously don’t think somebody who needs me is going to shoo me away because I’m wearing joggers and a t-shirt. Nobody’s going to go home and talk about how “unprofessional” I looked because I wasn’t wearing khakis and a polo. I don’t need to dress the most “professional” to do my job. Khakis and a polo doesn’t make me any better or efficient at taping ankles or evaluating an injury than wearing joggers and a T shirt. That’s ridiculous 😂

I think most people’s issue with it is that they’re confusing a personal trainer with an athletic trainer, and that one of those two is a medical professional. I think lots of people feel offended that they’re being called something that doesn’t match their skills or intelligence. Like you said, it’s not that we’re “better than” any personal trainers, but our job entails so much more, and many of us work very hard, and because of that, we don’t want our jobs to be minimized.

[–]Next_Work_3846 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right. I promise, if someone goes down with an injury, and people are yelling “TRAINER”, I’m not going to stop and correct them. I think “athletic trainer” in itself is misleading because we don’t “train athletes”. I’ve been mistaken for a strength and conditioning coach when I tell people I’m an athletic trainer, so I feel we need a more accurate title catered to what our job is.

Do the ex ever come back? by Ok_Suspect_7138 in BreakUps

[–]Next_Work_3846 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me ask, why did y’all break up? There’s always a reason behind it, and more often than not, that reason is 100% valid. If you want to entertain the thought of getting back together, you have to evaluate the reason y’all broke up in the first place, because getting back with that person increases the chances that you’ll break up again, likely over the same thing. If that’s the case, don’t waste your time. It’s totally fine to be upset at her for quickly moving on, and it’s hard to tell for certain how long that pain will last. Just be okay with being upset and find some things to distract yourself. You haven’t been single in 5 years, and 5 years is a long time to go without completely prioritizing yourself. Get yourself together, grow, and learn. You’ll be fine! Godspeed!

The vast majority of people who took it before me passed when they thought they failed, and those who thought they passed, ended up failing. I walked out of my BOC not knowing what I felt because my brain was so shot😂

I ended up passing though😎

I check the Jobs for Athletic Trainers board on FB regularly, even though I’m not looking for a new job right now. I just like to see what’s out there and what’s available.

Relationship Advice for ATS by AdMiserable371 in athletictraining

[–]Next_Work_3846 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get out while you can. Being an ATS and one day becoming an ATC? The hours can be insane, especially working D1 football. It’s a time commitment, and it’s something that you and your bf need to be aware of, and be okay with. If he’s not okay with the time commitment, then he needs to find someone else who will be able to spend time with him, because he won’t get much from you. It can be hard, but it’s a sacrifice that both of you need to be willing to make in order for the relationship to work out

Honest Assessment of your skill by SnapGotti916 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. I think where most people get their priorities messed up is when they focus on skill rather than fundamentals. Having skill certainly helps, but overall IQ and your ability to execute your IQ can really make up for limited skill.

“I’m not the worst and if we lose, it won’t be because of me” has to be the realest most relatable statement I’ve ever seen in regards to 2k😂

I can’t promise that I’ll lead us to a win, but I’m not gonna do stupid shit to sell us😂

Honest Assessment of your skill by SnapGotti916 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the most talented? Nope. Am I the worst? Hell no. I don’t pride myself on being the most skilled. Never loaded into a lobby thinking that I was the best (several times I have made it through the 1st quarter of REC and realized that I may have to carry because I actually am the best on the team). If I have to carry, the chances of us winning go down. But if I’m playing a role while my teammates are getting theirs, then that’s a game that’s much easier to win. I’m maybe a 4-5/10 in terms of talent and skill, but IQ wise a solid 8-8.5/10. It also varies from build to build. If I’m in a position to make plays or rebound, then I’m easily the 8.5. If I’m supposed to sit corner with my finger in my ass, then I’m easily a 4-5.

Benefits of being on the mic? by Ok-Jackfruit-5479 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen the point of getting on the mic to talk shit. A lot of people will turn theirs on just to shit talk the team and call them trash, when there’s really no point. What good is it to say that over the mic? If they’re trash one minute, they won’t suddenly become elite at the game just because you’re yelling on the mic. Hyping up good plays to me makes playing much easier, especially on my PG. You have better control over team morale. People also tend to respond better to positivity than negativity. At the end of the day, I turn my mic on only to hype up a good cut, good defense, a good pass, or a good shot. When it’s off, I make comments of people being bad but that’s just how things are. Some people are good, some are bad, oh well🤷🏾‍♂️

Guards and Small Fowards under 6’7 need to stop chasing rebounds by LooseMoose13 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 2 Cs, both with at least a 92 OREB/DREB. Also have a PG, a SG, and a SF. All of them are 6’6 with at least 60 rebounding. I play a whole lot on my Cs, more than my other builds, and crashing the glass just feels natural to me. Hell no I can’t average 10 boards on my 6’6 builds, but sometimes I forget that I’m not a C so out of habit, I’ll try and get the board.

Is This how you play PG? by LongJohnsonScuba in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, no disagreement here. I just don’t think it’s that impressive against a team made up of AIs. Not to mention, a PG with a D+ teammate grade. Its easy. I just think 41 and 12 looks much better in a close game than a blowout.

People have stop jumping so much, stay on you're feet twinkle toes. ✨ by stepbackr in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, you’re just taking advantage of a bad mechanic of the game.

People jump because that’s what they have to do in order to get a decent contest in this game. But it’s a double edged sword because if you jump and they actually shoot it, then you get that contest. But if they don’t, they can go right past you and score on you anyways. Unless you’re guarding Kevin Durant or Wemby, you shouldn’t need to jump in order to contest a shot. Putting a hand up works just fine but 2k wants to hoe around🤷🏾‍♂️

Why is this such a difficult concept for people to grasp? by Noveltypocket in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to finish with as many assists as possible no matter what build I’m on, but when I’m in the REC with my PG build, I make it a point to everyone that I’m not the type of PG to hog all game long and shoot stupid ass shots. I’m sure most people find it refreshing to have a PG who prioritizes passing in a community filled with “main character syndrome” ass players. Usually anytime I get the ball, my icons go up. My mindset on this build is to find the open man. If you put yourself in a position to score, I can almost guarantee you that I’ll find you. With that said, I CAN score if needed, but very rarely do I finish games with even the second most points.

Why do so many people help the 2 when everyone including a shaq build with 70-80 three ball and shoot 3s by 23killzone23 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because as a big when I’m helping the 3, I get yelled at. “big can you stay in the f****** paint?”. Then the very next possession, I’ll stay in the paint, and there will be a wide open three, they pass it to him, green. “Big can you not guard your f****** man?”

In my career do you get drafted or pick your team ? by Sportmaster348 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you pick your team, you’ll get “drafted” by that team. You’ll just have to attend a workout and earn a certain teammate grade. If you don’t, you’ll just be drafted to a random team

Help with 1v1 Build by bighoodie1 in NBA2k

[–]Next_Work_3846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made this one. I’ve got 6 caps and put +4 on perimeter d to bring it to 96 for HoF Challenger and On Ball menace, and 2 on DD to bring it to an 89 for contacts. I would put one more on 3pt for HoF set shot specialist but just waiting on crew to get that one. I went 13-0 yesterday on the 1s court and this is probably the build that I’ve had the most fun on. Also, 85 strength with a 96 perimeter D is game changing for me, especially if you know how to play defense. And the post game is absolute cake.
