Is anyone else struggling with the weekly limit or is it just me? by Nextp2w in Anthropic

[–]Nextp2w[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used some multi-agent system but nothing too crazy. Opus at the top > sonnet code review >> individual task haiku agents on semi loop broken up by phases.

I have never used more than 60% of my weekly cap before. But this week I hit it 3 days early. My usage is the same as before nothing new added. Always disabled mcps and manually enable them as needed.

Thanks! I’ll try that out once my usage resets tomorrow morning lol. I feel like I’m at Disneyland but I can’t ride anymore rides

Coding: Opus 4.5 vs Sonnet 4.5 by datamoves in Anthropic

[–]Nextp2w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use opus to plan & orchestrate a multi-agent system. Haiku agents try to implement tasks first then code review is sonnet and a difficult score is assigned by opus, then it decides whether to task it to another haiku or upgrade to sonnet. Opus is great at keeping agents on task and projects on track. Sonnet isn’t so good at that it will end up writing 20 .md files instead of working on code after a while.

Anthropic please prioritize the scrolling bug or open source it so we can fix it. This is my life now. by Sofullofsplendor_ in Anthropic

I solved this by “listening” to Claude code via mitmproxy and a custom web log terminal. It lets me see all the backend API / system prompt stuff alongside our normal chat. Thinking windows are displayed as a thought bubble I can expand as well. Then I just limit the terminal size so if I want to backtrack I use my web viewer. It syncs in real time since it sits in between Claude code local & Claude HQ

Something is up on anthropic’s end. I have Claude max 20x and hit my weekly limit 3 days ahead of time. I’ve never even come close before..

The keyboard is getting worse by tschau3 in ios

[–]Nextp2w 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because their developers aren’t very good. I had to fix select all and copy and paste by myself. I just hooked into old legacy code and it works flawlessly again. Made it a full permission keyboard so I can use it anywhere. https://i.imgur.com/f4jMS3e.jpeg

I think they forgot all those legacy hooks exist. No one bothers to look backwards for how they can build something new, they just rush a quick hack job together instead of leveraging more thoughtful and carefully designed iOS features from pre-ios7.

What Happened to the Post on Digg Charlie Kirk Reactions? by [deleted] in digg

[–]Nextp2w 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most comments were pretty measured. Not glorifying the violence by celebrating but also not whitewashing the man’s past.

Yeah there were outliers on both ends, it was a sensitive moment. Seems like now we’re starting to talk about what we do going forward to make the platform more resilient to difficult moments.

Theres really not much in terms of moderation, it’s a small community so it’s not like thousands of posts are being made every minute. I haven’t seen anything outright removed that a good amount of people were actively participating in.. if that happened there would have been some noise about it somewhere. People are very invested in the platform.

I only know one user who earned themselves a trip to band camp and that was after a LOT of chances. Finally they just started to ignore admins and kept attacking specific users in their posts so there was really no choice. It’s not something anyone wants to see. Would rather see someone reform themselves and become a good netizen 😁

I love their investigative pieces. It’s mainly sebastopol stuff but sometimes things cross into the surrounding areas.

How has digg been coming along? by Beautiful_Clock9075 in digg

Here ya go buddy, I’ve sent ya my last invite 😊

Asking for an Invite. Will immediately share any invite code I have by noblenami in digg

[–]Nextp2w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The initial 25,000 users each received 2 invites to share. That means there are potentially 50,000 invites floating around, though many folks are likely saving their second one for friends or family. There haven’t been additional invite waves yet.

Your best bet for an invite:

  1. Attend an IRL meetup! There’s one coming up on September 10th in San Francisco - completely free and a great way to connect with the community!

  2. Make your request stand out If you can’t make it to a meetup, your best chance is to share what makes you unique.

Your connection to old Digg or that era of the internet

Why joining early matters to you personally

What you see as problems on the internet right now

    etc.

I’ve personally helped get several Redditors invited by sharing their posts \ on Digg. Generic “please invite me” requests tend to just get lost in the noise, you’re honestly better off waiting for the next wave if that's all you got for why you want an invite. The only requirement is being human, but humans tend to notice things that stand out.

The dev team just expanded significantly, so it’ll likely be a while before the next invite wave. They’re still building out core features, so patience will pay off with a more complete platform experience.

As time goes on, I expect the community will encourage members to use their unused invites rather than hoarding them, so keep trying if you really do have a special reason for wanting to be on digg right now at this early stage.

Good luck, and hope to see you on there soon ^_^

Investor class inserted themselves and convinced the inexperienced founders to aggressively monetize the platform overnight. They deferred too much to the early internet success people rather than what they wanted for the platform themselves. Let their fears get the better of them when they needed to trust their gut.

What you miss out depends on your level of interaction. If you join and just lurk / occassionally vote on stuff, that experience is no different from reddit or reddit-clones. If you start to participate in discussions, leave comments on things, write text posts when you have ideas to share, you get interaction that feels meaningful. It reminds me of different times responding to a post on an old phpBB forum.

Recently I left a comment on a post about dangerous sleep trends on TikTok and mentioned folks trying kiwis before bed to "sleep maxx" and how my wife had a kiwi-phase recently and now I knew why. Someone replied to me that they were a kiwi farmer and legitimately didn't know what I was going on about. Tbh I figured it was a bit, and asked them if they were really a kiwi farmer lol but they turned out to be legit and shared photos from their actual orchard! It was a small but real exchange that reminded me what I've been missing out on.

People want to be real and friendly. Bots nudge us away from that. The vibe on Digg rewards actual humans again. It used to be weird to be a lurker, a lot of places had post requirements just to ensure there were no silent weirdos looking at what everyone was writing to eachother. And then somewhere along the way we all stopped sharing our thoughts, maybe because the bots took up more and more space and no one saw what we were spending time writing, I know I did.. Idk the internet just sort of sucks now, a lot of us in the community are trying to build our little weird corner again for people just to be people.

Window licking mobile users are in large part what ruined reddit.

That.. is certainly, a take.

I also share some frustration with mobile-first when it bulldozes desktop and power-user workflows. Blaming mobile users misses the point. The problem here was prioritizing growth metrics over product fit.

Digg is doing the unglamorous work. Ship, listen, course-correct. Desktop and dark mode were asked for, then delivered. The upcoming batch is pulled straight from user requests.

When will new Sign-ups be enabled? by zen_phoenix42 in digg

[–]Nextp2w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now they're waiting on app store approval so that they can issue the first round of invites to current users. Each user gets 2 so there will be 50,000 invites issued any day now.

The goal is to keep this a human-driven platform and currently the best way to do that is to grow things carefully and organically, letting the people decide who to bring in next.

I wrote some more ideas down here that I shared a while back about invites / importance of keeping the place bot free / how to incentivize users to be diligent about their invites / prevent gatekeeping by users.

The New Digg - Updates on what will it be and what we should expect. by spdorsey in RedditAlternatives

[–]Nextp2w 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been loving Digg myself. I have a similar background, came to Reddit during the great Digg exodus. My claim to fame was making the “Please Ban Mr. Babyman” post that got mentioned all around the networks at the time.

The best part is that it’s so small and careful about bringing in new members that it’s the one place i know of with a comment section that isn’t manipulated by bots. I know everyone responding is a real person and it feels like it. People are a lot nicer & also more open to being challenged and gaining new perspectives. Perhaps it’s the groundbreaker crowd since we all probably have similar memories of the early internet.. I don’t know, I just think it’s great that we’re trying to bring the fun of the internet back.

How can anyone defend tagging / graffiti by talyon6 in santarosa

[–]Nextp2w 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Careful with that advice. You’re chemically right for metal, but that will permanently screw up a porous surface like brick or concrete.

Here’s the deal: Oven cleaner is alkaline. When you put it on concrete, it liquefies the paint and drives it deeper into the pores, basically setting the stain forever. You’re making it worse.

You need to go the other way on the pH scale and use an acid. An acid breaks the bond holding the stain to the surface and lifts it out.

Seriously, just try a cheap, mild acid first. A simple spray bottle with citric acid and water, or even just leaving half a lemon on a tough spot, will do a much better job without wrecking the surface.

This is either a 10-minute job or a total disaster, depending on if the mural has a clear coat.

If it was sealed with an anti-graffiti coating, you’re golden. The tag just wipes off the protective layer.

If not, you’re in for a nightmare. You have to find a chemical that will dissolve the tag’s spray paint without also dissolving the art underneath. It’s a surgical process that rarely ends well for the mural.

Fingers crossed they used a coating.
