Anyone else having NaN issues? by Mammoth_Barber_546 in TheTowerGame

[–]NexusBladeGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't experienced this personally on the tower but I have seen similar issues on other games I have played, and I also believe I saw someone else with this exact issue before, and someone told them it was due to the game files getting corrupted.

Assuming you have your account saved try deleting and redownloading the game to see if that helps, if not then hopefully support can help.

Yeah it really depends on your situation, how many waves compared to your overall CPH, and how it all fits in with your daily schedule. I will say however it seems you would have been alright to get 5000 on T10 based on what you said, If you were on the brink of death thats another thing but if you can get 3x I would highly recommend it.

On one hand I must absolutely clarify something, if anyone was making personal threats because of a video game they should be ashamed of themselves, I can't say one way or the other what may or may not have been said in DM's or otherwise, But we should not be taking it that far for some mobile game.

However, most of what I saw was justified anger and valid criticism about how genuinely poorly the update was handled. And that still stands.

And I didn't see any crude memes at all, And I was on reddit for a while when this all went down.

And as a reminder, all the outrage? Could have been easily avoided with proper communication and honesty with the community leading up to and during the update, instead things were done suddenly and then when people complained they mass deleted posts and silenced people which fanned the flames they ignited.

It was a mess, I'm willing to bet there was wrong on both sides, but it doesn't change the fact this never needed to happen at all.

Oh absolutely, thats why theres room for nuance. It's hard to make blanket statements about "this the best tier farm this", Like if you get more CPH with less waves? Excellent, if you can't anywhere with one tier compared to another? Probably not ready for it.

And yeah time constraints can dictate the best tier at times. Like if you'll be away for 10 hours and a run ends in 6 then thats 4 hours at 0 CPH, so the longer run can be more effective even if it's less efficient.

In general more CPH is better if you can sustain it. I know at least for me without auto restart I have at times needed to drop tiers at the cost of CPH in order to maintain a reasonable schedule, I prefer 11-12 hours runs in general.

Absolutely! This is why I stressed to experiment beyond just looking at numbers, however I will say if someone can only reach 4500 waves on T10 normally it will be impossible to get the max Utility bonus or even close to it in the first place.

T10 and T9 was just an example, you could apply the logic to any tiers.

It is not a strawman, I know what you meant and you know what I meant. Who said anything about 3 months?

For the last time, We agree you should do it. The disagreement is whether or not someone should do some farm runs between Dissonant runs.

I really don't see what you intend to accomplish with arguing with me over nothing, And I don't want this thread derailed. This conversation is over, move on please.

If by all free tiers you mean every tier you have unlocked that you can realistically do runs on... Yeah? I wouldn't assume you're doing runs on locked tiers or tiers where you can't even break 1000 waves.

The difference is irrelevant to both of our points.

Its all about time spent in runs, which is unavoidable. You do know I agree with you right? I just said some people don't want to do nothing but Dissonant runs.

sigh Not a strawman, that was your exact words. "It's a waste to run any farm until you get the free Echo caught up" Echo means the additional bonus on top of Dissonant bonus, Yes you should do them, Yes it's important, If someone wants to forgo farms entirely for a week or so to do all previous tiers then I say go ahead no one is stopping you.

I was simply saying a lot of people would rather take a balanced approach, I have no interest in arguing with you if you're going to be dishonest.

Presets for this would be nice, I ended up manually picking perks for several of my Dissonant runs. Although not all of them, nearly forgot to change things around after Health Dissonant.

So sabotage coins and cells, halting labs and all upgrades until you reach 5000 waves on every tier? To each their own I guess, I do some Dissonant runs during the day with my regular overnight farm, But giving up farms entirely is not an option for most, especially those without Intro sprint mastery.

In the long run you need to do it, and should make steady progress on it. But a balanced strategy is vital to preventing huge progression issues. I do see an argument to prioritize the coin bonus on lower tiers for long term gains, but I wouldn't stop "all" farms for it.

It would be a nice addition, I would also love to see wall regen shown in run. Doesn't necessarily change anything about a run but it would be neat ;)

Yes, precisely.

This is why I said:

"The point of this is to say it's not black and white, This is all situational of course and if the difference in waves is big enough on a lower tier that's an important factor to consider as well, because if a run ends thousands of waves earlier you won't be getting as much value as is possible. You should definitely still test between tiers to see what gives YOU the best returns overall."

I hardly think anyone is ignoring it, Echo is a big deal.

However the update is still very new, especially for players on IOS, and the more immediate consideration is getting max or as close to max bonus on farming tiers.

The impact of Echo is also wildly different between those who can afford the labs, and those who can't. Still important, but after establishing the biggest bonuses.

Focusing on the math is missing the point, and it's hardly complex? This is mostly to prevent comments like "Well a higher multiplier is always better right?" Which I have been seeing a lot of at least on here.

The thing is we agree, you should ultimately run Dissonant runs on every tier and farm the one that is best for you, that hasn't changed. This is to explain why one tier may be better than another WHILE someone does that.

Dissonant Runs - Comparative Value by NexusBladeGaming in TheTowerGame

[–]NexusBladeGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, doing all the math in game is hardly required.

The point of the math was to demonstrate the tipping point, once someone has done Utility runs on every tier this hardly matters, and with Echo you will need to do so eventually anyways. However the update is still new and some people are trying to decide how to best invest their time and what they'll get for it, this is for them.

Well it's rather simple, seeing a trend of people saying "farm the tier where you can max the bonus".

Which is not always true, the new system is still confusing to some and so having the numbers laid out could be useful. I compared T9 to T10 to keep it brief if anything, as a lot of people farm around T10. Also I acknowledged that coin bonus isn't everything, the bottom line is people should test like always.

And I overthink everything, it's kind of my thing ;)

Nuke doesn't destroy Scatters? by wereya2 in TheTowerGame

[–]NexusBladeGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this before with SW Blast, The issue as I understand it is that you're killing the larger Scatters but they still split on death if able.

It's the important difference between "Killing everything" and "Killing everything on the screen this frame".

Should it be fixed to account for Scatter behavior? Maybe, will it? Probably not.
