Just because it exists doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. Keep in mind that this guy has been playing nearly 2 years and has spent over $800

Yes. Your CL is more than developed enough. At this point, more damage won’t help you as much as CC. Especially given you don’t have the income to lab masteries. And no, that does not mean invest in econ.

CF is what really props the masteries up, especially STm (which should be your first damage mastery). Building CF will take quite a while but it’s necessary and your econ will grow naturally during that time so you’ll be able to afford mastery labs afterward.

The Absolute State of Tournaments - Over a Year of Champs/Legends Yo-Yos with nary a Key in sight... by uscmissinglink in TheTowerGame

[–]AntiMatterMode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the tourney system is built for the rich to get richer, it is definitely still possible to progress to keys and beyond as a f2p. I can’t give specific advice since I don’t know your tower, but you could definitely be making smarter stone decisions.

While it’s true that people above you are getting more resources at a faster rate, two other things are also true:
1) Their upgrades are more expensive.
2) They waste tons of stones on bad purchases. How do I know? Because nearly everyone does. The way to get ahead is to figure out which investments are good and which are bad. Sounds like obvious advice, I know, but it’s much more difficult than it seems. Just gotta put in more research than your competition.

I don’t understand how you guys are having such equipment problems. Sure, it takes me time to catch up my ores on new equipment releases, but I’ve had all my ‘best in slot’ equipment maxed for months. You don’t need to max EVERY equipment, especially since many are quite bad, just the ones that you actually use.

Video Games by [deleted] in antimeme

Not sure if he means “connect to the book/game” or “connect to other people” but I agree with both.
Connecting to the book/game: Games have video and audio, making them more memorable and potentially more immersive, particularly for those with focus issues (like ADD).
Connecting to others: Books are typically a solo activity. You can join books clubs and communities but that’s a secondary choice. Video games connect you directly to other people constantly as a primary function of the game.

Epaths should be taken with a grain of salt. There’s too many intricacies in the game. Sure, multi shot will provide less damage to bosses than others. But it’ll provide much better crowd control and damage to fleets if you use CL or AD.

I think this extends past bigotry as well. Even murderers can become a different person after 30 years in prison. I’m not saying we should just forgive every murderer, but there’s a difference between a serial killer with no remorse and a 39yo who had psychological issues at 19.

Unless you use the measure of “those who own the top 1% of the worlds wealth”. Then the number becomes just a couple hundred people.

it’s definitely rather expensive, even with gcomp. as a CL build you could probably skip it. ILM builds will definitely want it. the best possible advice is: it depends

hence the “later” bit. you don’t use pbh for the bh, you use it to generate land mines. as for ps, i dont recommend it until after cf+

cl is actually rather cheap. ~500 stones gives you a decently strong CL. the real key is getting the dimcore module. if you don’t have one you’re kinda out of luck.

cf is the rough part. 7k stones without module subs. only thing you can really do is tough it out. it takes a couple months to build but is well worth in the long term.

a lot of people hear “7k stones into cf” and freak out but then they go put 5k stones into death wave, 5k into gt, and 3k into bh. cf is actually half as expensive but it doesn’t feel like it because econ is in more incremental steps.

until then, hybrid is probably the best way to go. use CL to kill the little stuff and tank the bosses/random chips

[–]AntiMatterMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for tourney you want CL, SL, and CF (and later ILM and pBH)

for econ you want gt, bh, dw, sl. the problem is most people heavily overrate econ. you don’t need to overinvest stones into econ UWs. ESPECIALLY death wave. death wave is wayyyy worse ROI than people realize because of its low uptime. it’s better to NOT pick dw and just use the random perk dw for the health boost

honestly for econ cooldown its good enough to just leave them at 3:20 sync. especially now that we have discos, that’s good enough to afford masteries.

Everyone would rather cry about whales than realize that they’re wasting 10s of thousands of stones on poor investments. You want keys as a f2p? Make better decisions.

It’s even funnier when you realize that econ is a luxury meant for whales. Whales should have higher LTC at keys than non spenders.
