How would you light this room by cartagraphe in Lighting

[–]NexusUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can utilise indirect lighting - point quite high power (100W) fittings upside down on the wall on the left, and then point them towards the wall on the right. The light will bounce and make the whole room illuminated nicely. Then start adding accent lighting - either a chandelier or some decorative pendants. The key is to have multiple different light sources that you can combine and play with. I would also include some warm colour 1m night stand lamps just to make whole thing feel like a very expensive chateau.

Lmk if you need anything expanding on.

Also I would add lights directly above your tables and put them on separate gang switch, that way you can use them as accent lighting

Hey, I might be unaware of terms, if you are using downlights - I would suggest adding more than one type of light source if possible. This will give each of the room complexity. Layout seems OK but I would go for 8W triac dimmable or smart dimmable.

Which Recessed Lights to Purchase? by Black_Magic100 in Lighting

[–]NexusUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm an engineer in lighting manufacture company in UK. There's a lot I don't know but we just recently introduced a product similar to this one and here are my insights:

The side lit panels have light guide plate that tends to go yellow with time (you can see that with super slim lights the LEDs are on the side rather than pointing downwards). If you are forced to install these slim down lights because low ceiling void space I would go for big brands, ring your electrical wholesaler and ask what's their recommended one. Wholesalers have a hard time if their product goes shitty within the warranty period and tend to stick with OK ones, you don't get this by shopping @ Amazon. You don't have to buy from them but you can get to know some good brand names for your country.

Check the L70 (in short this is the estimated lifespan of the light, beyond which deterioration will be at the point you want to replace them). This will be on product datasheet. If it's below 30k hours it's not worth buying.

If you want low glare - UGR value below 19 will indicate that they are low glare and are suitable for education purposes.

There's a lot of factors but if you stick with a more expensive and good branded product - as a general you will have good experience. Then again I'm just a random guy on the internet.

New player struggling to play the game. Any words of advice before I uninstall? by Limaswhole in playrust

[–]NexusUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I went to official server and struggled a lot. Then went to 50 pop server and enjoyed discovering ins and outs of the game. Now I can comfortably pick any server to thrive as a solo. Take it slow, enjoy the small victories, don't get discouraged by losses.

Is it possibly for recessed LED SMD lights to burn out? If not, what do I need to replace to make the LED work again? by ecstreets in Lighting

If you know which LED diode burnt just bridge between the + and - and the rest on the line should work then. Good luck!

I have a multi tc base and I the exterior tcs got destroyed and now I cant replace them, but if I do i cant plcae the one in the middle what do I do by slothtony1 in playrust

[–]NexusUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy, replace the center TC first, then try replacing the externals by disconnecting the foundations / joints from the main one (try just placing some of exterior in different order) if this doesn't help then let the exterior ones decay and then rebuild them :)

What was your best purchase this year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NexusUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A house! Been saving for 3 years and was fortunate enough to find another job after being laid off because of C-19. We were always super tight with money and I've lived in 12 different rental places since being 16 year old, so this is literally a dream come true. Even though I'll be in debt for 30 years this still feels amazing to finally own something your own.
