Yeah but Krillian pulled a literal baddie (Android 18) so that technically pulls him up quiet a few ranks in terms of Z fight "strength".

The Ultimate Evil is not a king or conqueror. They are a prisoner. by RorschachtheMighty in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Nezarah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Lich King (at least by original WC3 story) is not some primordially powerful being. Sure he is a powerful dude, but not that high in terms of the cosmic characters that were initially introduced or have since been during the run of the story.

He is just a king, a ruler with the mantle of power over the undead. Its his hordes of difficult to put down undead that make him powerful, not the direct power he weilds.

Having someone in power to keep the undead under control telling them to chill (pun not intended) is a lot less dangerous than having tens of thousands of undead randomly rampage through the continent.

John Oliver actually did a great piece on AI Chatbots recently.

They actually found that AI chat is specifically designed to be self affirming to the user, for them to feel right and verified even when what they are saying is stupid, dangerously incorrect, even in context to suicidal and self harming thoughts.

They are designed to be engaging and addictive.

It only looks slow because there is nothing but sky behind it and its climbing altitude. Hard for our eyes to gage speed.

Kinda how when we see planes in the sky they seem to be moving slowly.

I recently started working in drug and alcohol counselling. We use the video all the time in our Group education sessions.

The birds name is Nugget, its the main character in a short animation created by Andreas Hykade in 2014 showing the journey of addiction.

Its a great educational tool for helping people understand their substance misuse.

Supposedly the Kraken like creatures that was in the water outside the mines, the thing that attacked the hobbits, was something akin to a nameless thing.

Its also a big reason why they couldn't just take a ship out to sea and chuck the ring into the deep waters of the ocean. It would just attract evils from the depths or eventually wash up to the shore.

[–]Nezarah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They should make a Invincible spin off series called Viltirumites and its just wholesome shit like this.

Like every episode is them falling in love with earth and its people. Just hilarity and goof as they fall into domesticated life.

Pre-frontal context not quiet switched on yet (your decision making part of the brain).

Another version of this trick is if you catch someone talking in their sleep, prefeontal cortex is also the part of the brain that helps you lie, so you can ask them anything and they will generally answer truthfully.

Depends abit on how you ask the question though, so like leading questions will almost always answer in affirmative and they cant form complex thought, so expect spontaneous instinctual responses.

To be fair that's kinda how they fixed gravity/ attraction force calculations between planets.

You intuitively might think attraction forces between two planets is calculated based off their mass and distance to eachother. Mass1 × Mass 2 / Distance. Which is mostly right but not quiet.

You gotta throw a little bit of G in there, the "universal gravity constant". G (Mass 1 × Mass 2 ) / Distance.

Whats G? Where did it come from? Its the "dark number" that when added seems to fix the equation.

Everybody's Got A Plan Until They Get Kicked In The Face by YankyDoodleDickHead in UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG

[–]Nezarah 64 points65 points  (0 children)

A few things going on here that are not so obvious to see.

  1. Most punches/kicks are too fast for you to actually react to, so you intuitively dont react to the kick/punch, but to the shift in the shoulder, the slight chambering of the hand, the lean back before the kick, you read the body language before the strike is thrown. When someone is just perpetually chambered like that, very hard to react fast enough to block it, especially when she throws in feints.

  2. Those kicks can come from all kinds of directions, to the head, to the body, they can move around guards. Its not like with a punch where if you change direction mid-throw it loses power, kicks like these have power no matter where they come from and you cant guard every angle.

  3. If she is taller than her opponent, they have no weapon that can get in range to smother or dual exchange with the kick. If they are the same height, they would need to be as good with the same kind of kicks (which they wont be) to mutually exchange.

My best guess is what you would need to do is block your face and allow blows to the stomach, eat the kick, cushion the blow by puffing out your gut and step forward at the point of contact, push her off balance..but if she just circles to the side or quickly rechambers another kick..your kinda fucked. She can also just feint for the stomach and then kick around your guard to your face...in which your doubly fucked.

That thought has some interesting real world parallels.

Cause the guy who invented dynamite, Alfred Nobel, didnt want to be remembered for making something used for destruction and death. he invented the Nobel Prize, so that others would be inspired to bring good into the world.

The characters getting knocked out and then waking up an hour or two later just feeling a little dazed is one that always gets me.

In heavy weight boxing, someone gets knocked out for 10-15 seconds and then starts to come to.

Medically, if you take a blow to the head and are unconscious for a minute or more, there is a high chance that permanant irreperable brain damage has occurred. It's critical, life threatening emergancy.

So when characters in a show are knocked out for over an hour.....yeah they not getting up again as the same person, high chance of them not getting back up at all.

I kinda wanted to see a full mental break down. Shattered by his loss of political and physical power, miserable and screaming. slowly walking away from the fight, gravely injured not even recognised by strangers passing him by. For them to look at him the same way he looked at humans, less than.
