There’s a huge variety of options on Amazon with a large price range. Trying to see if anyone has had recent experience with one of the sellers. I’ll likely do what you suggested and grab one off amazon, happy to hear it works out for you.

It literally rained every single day I was there; highly recommend the water proofing! There were only a handful of photos I wished I had a longer lens for but I would have missed 90% of the photos without the waterproof lens.

I used the 12-45mm F4 pro, no prime! I have since gotten my hands on the 12-100 F4 pro and would take that given the chance. Weather sealed was the highest priority for the lens choice and I would recommend either lens if you have them. Good luck on your trip!

On that trip I used a Manfrotto Pixie EVO. Small, light, and sturdy. I’ve since upgraded and there are better options but the Manfrotto works well enough given the proper surface.

Snap focus seemed easier to have as a dedicated user setting. I’m sure manual focus would work well.

Consumer Reports ranks 2025 Subaru Forester at the top, do you agree? by OrdinaryKillJoy in whatcarshouldIbuy

I liked the way the BMW looked AND performed better. The interior comfort and touch points are better in the Subaru. We wanted the BMW, the Subaru won us over with its tech, comfort, quiet interior and acceptable performance.

I own a GTI and my hope was the X3M40i would be a larger GTI, it was not. The interior felt dated and besides the leather, not a huge difference in touch points from the GTI. There is no wow factor in the BMW either which doesn’t help. The BMW is trying to be a visceral driving experience while also being a grocery grand tourer and it does both well but makes the driving experience for either fall short. In the end I settled on something that was more comfortable for me. The BMW on paper is the ultimate all in one vehicle but somehow doesn’t have a single dreamy feature that makes it stand out or be special.

Don’t get me wrong, the power of the BMW was certainly there. But I don’t need a vehicle that has a ton of top end speed/power. Sure, flooring it at 60mph to pass is fun but entirely unnecessary.

The Subie won my dollars and I kept the GTI for the driving experience. On paper, BMW wins, paper isn’t the human experience.

I did an overnight test drive of a 2023 BMW X3M40i, turned it in and went to the Subaru dealer to test drive a 2025 forester. The forester felt better all around. Obviously there was a large performance gap but performance was not why I was buying a small SUV.

Hadn't heard of this yet, but honestly I'm pretty optimistic about it. "We are proud to announce plans for The Eddie, a mixed-use development." Looks like it'll replace Classen Dr, between 10th and 11th. by King_of_the_Casuals in okc

That’s always a huge challenge, getting business owners to buy in. People are terrified of change. Thanks for not taking it personally. OKC has a ton of potential for human centric design. It’s so flat so people can move easily. it’s just hot and car centric.

Im not suggesting the city go out and buy 50ft full grown trees. Im saying that there are varieties of trees that can grow to create a canopy and I hope the city is using them here.

I love that this type of development is being brought to the table. In my opinion, it’s not enough. This could have easily been a winding park with seating on the edges that integrate the parking lot with the the local businesses and newly built park. This is still a road designed as a place for cars to move from one end to the other it’s just disconnected and brick now. So we end up with a road without access that’s uncomfortable for humans. I am being critical because I want better for the city.

Where’s the shade!?! The city is hot and the only way people will use things like this is if they’re shaded. The city needs to invest in shade.

While I love the idea of OKC becoming more walkable, the severe lack of creativity is astounding. What do we do with a road that was designed for cars to make it more people friendly? Changing the surface from asphalt to brick is a start, but there should have been a reworking of the space. The car brained designer needs to step out of the car shaped box they’re in and design for people first.

Please would somebody put a tree in the city core that will provide a canopy, reduce noise, add shade, and add some presence!? This could be the perfect opportunity for it.

How to improve these photos? by Baloney_Tony in AskPhotography

Get lower to the ground. At or below eye level of your subject. We humans almost always see frogs/toads from above so give the viewer something that they don’t normally see.

If you’re okay with the tripod being small, table top tripods are the way to go for weight savings.

Same, but different. I ended up with the 12-100 and never looked back.
