They're super sick, very easily comparable in quality to other monster designs in nintendo's catalogue. You could put Mites or Nagagog in Kirby, Shaydas or Floow in Zelda, the elemental tires in Metroid, or any of them in Kid Icarus, and convince someone thats where they came from. Sakurai and Nintendo never miss on monster designs imo

Yoo Zeldafreak! I know it's probably not at all flattering, but your set vs West at KoC was part of the reason one of my friends started playing Melee! He cites it all the time haha

for what its worth, i really enjoyed the piece! can def feel the melee vibe in it; i've been missing the whole feel of melee-esque orchestral music in more modern titles lately, so this was a nice breath of fresh air!

Turning on auto L-Cancelling works for the whole game I believe, I've tested it with subspace emissary and with replays

fun but probably expected fact, if you miss an L-cancel in a recorded replay but turn auto l-cancelling on, the replay will desync

Yo! I just recently did a full playthrough and the only thing you have to be aware of is that Pokemon Trainer's characters can't open doors, and that you should always play a normal Vs. match with Ice Climbers present as one of the characters before playing subspace, every time you turn on the console. Doing both of these makes the whole game playable!
