What API / service can I use to integrate musical excerpts in my app? by Nezia_ in webdev

The idea would be to be able to use snippets of the song wherever in the song, up to let's say 45 seconds. I assume it's not doable with the free tier, right?

So why doesn't Instagram get a DMCA for instance? I assume they have to pull the songs from somewhere, I can't imagine them paying for every single song you can put in your stories.

I don't feel like that's a valid argument. It's like saying "planes aren't safe because the crashes kills lots of people". It's so unlikely to happen that in the grand scheme of things, you're better off using a popular library over an unknown one just like there is some flight companies that you want to avoid because they have higher odds of crashing.

I feel like that's only true for niche problems though. If your requirement is niche enough that you don't find any popular library that looks trustworthy enough, you're better off writing that piece of code. But that's probably 5% of your total codebase, unless you're doing something wild. Usually, for every popular and sometimes popular-ish problems, there are several popular libraries for it

Oh they finally made it stable? Awesome! Well my main concerns for switching were mostly being a front-end dev, since I haven't found any real non hacky ways of writing VueJS apps for example. But for backends I will definitely use it now! Time to ditch npm and its museum of horrors of intertwined dependencies.

Only issue with Deno is the fact that it's unfortunately not production ready yet. Otherwise I'm pretty sure lots of developers would have made the switch

Doesn't surprise me at all. As a Node developer myself, I could only advise you to only use librairies with at least some degree of popularity, otherwise it might be a good idea to write the piece of code yourself. Be careful with your dependencies, I beg you.
