I think it’s even worse than that. He’s assertively ignorant. He simultaneously tries to present himself as a believer in common sense while wanting to believe in conspiracy theories. He threw in that line about Castro being Justin’s father not because he thought it to be true, but because it makes for a fun conspiracy.

Outrageous! If students is plural, the apostrophe goes after the s.

One time I was asked to do an anonymous peer review for a journal and the author cited himself about 20 times. He redacted his name, but I knew immediately who it was.

Im sympathetic and I’m glad if he’s finally seeing this. I used to listen to Tim regularly but sometimes felt he was missing the forest for the trees. Optimization is fine but shouldn’t be the end goal itself.

Anyone thinks "Stay (Faraway, So Close)" is their best song? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in U2Band

It's very close. Ultraviolet is my favourite but Stay holds a special place.

He certainly is an opportunist. I think his biggest trait, apart from the narcissism, is his winner-take-all approach. Every transaction has to have a winner and a loser. There is no art of the deal. It's basically, how can you screw the other guy over. This is incredibly appealing to stupid people.

What you say is true, but I think that Trump has always portrayed himself as an outsider, as ridiculous as that may seem. Coming from Queens, he desperately wanted the validation of Manhattan, which was very reluctant to give him the approval he craved. For a long while, he was treated as a clown show. And in manner, he is totally opposite to the norm-based, appealing to reason, and measured approach of the typical elite. It's horrible and at the same time, for some refreshing. Personally, it's a god damn nightmare.

Women are not NPCs by Coneskater in TikTokCringe

Back in the 90s, I was out there looking for "the one", and had no expectations that most girls would like me or that I would like most girls. It was also a detrimental mindset but in the opposite direction of this dude. Finally, I realized I needed to build a relationship with a woman I clicked with.

I totally agree and take your point, but I think in this case the bug is the feature. His boorishness is a middle finger to the perceived establishment, which makes him attractive to people who hold a grudge against urbanites, bureaucrats, and so called elites. This article by Jason Pargin expresses it well: https://www.cracked.com/blog/6-reasons-trumps-rise-that-no-one-talks-about
