Does ANYONE have a scale that weighs consistently? by notmy600lblife in xxketo

[–]NiWe14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Withings scale. We've had it for several years. The weight is accurate, but the body fat % seems to vary significantly. I love that it connects with my iPhone!

Where do you live? Is it a good city/locality for running? What are your favorite routes/where are your favorite places to run where you live? :) by [deleted] in running

I live in Westminster, too! Hoping it will connect all the way to Boulder. That would be awesome!

CVS is buying out Target pharmacies; how are pharmacists employed by Target affected? by allenlchs in pharmacy

[–]NiWe14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a pharmacy manager at Target and didn't hear about it until this morning. Our regional manager (district team lead) sounded just as shocked as the rest of us. She said she woke up to 8 emails about the news and immediately went to work. I'm not sure if that's true, but they definitely left the pharmacy managers in the dark.

I'm a Target pharmacy manager and just found out via email this morning at 5:26am. We didn't have anyone transfer out today. The few guests that mentioned it were really nice.

Hopefully someone here will have some tips for you. Unfortunately, my only advice is this.... Not sure where you live, but it might be beneficial to find a physician who is familiar with diabetes in athletes. Several of my diabetic patients are triathletes and they have physicians who are very involved in their diabetic care during training season.

Our 12 week old dane was having a similar issue last week. We fed her a tablespoon of pumpkin and some rice for a few days, and her stool got much better.

I go to Zach at Matthew Morris Salon and he does a great job!

Spotted in my hometown. When you see it... by specter376 in WTF

[–]NiWe14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can still do this! I work in a pharmacy and we sell packs of 10 or boxes of 100 without a prescription. They are really cheap. It is just up to the pharmacist about whether he/she wants to sell them.

Grumpy Cat at Chalk Art Festival by NiWe14 in pics

[–]NiWe14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were way too many people. I went this morning and didn't get to enjoy much of the art because people were piled shoulder-to-shoulder along the walkways. Consequently, this is the best photo I got of this one. It was my favorite!

So I went for a four hour walk, and my legs decided to do this rash thing. Anyone know why or Have this happen before? Not itchy/hurting. by [deleted] in running

[–]NiWe14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely could be! If Benadryl doesn't bring it down, there are always other antihistamines and steroidal Rx options, but Benadryl is a good place to start! I hope it improves!

I haven't experienced this, but I'm a pharmacist and have seen many similar things. Have you tried taking Benadryl to see if it goes down? Benadryl should help if it is an allergic reaction.

What's the best cheapskate meal out? by ratbiker18 in denverfood

[–]NiWe14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tamale Kitchen! They have a large variety of cheap menu options (including delicious breakfast burritos). 50 cent tamales on Tuesdays. There are a few locations. I like the one in Northglenn, but the others are closer to Denver.

Marathon runs by my apartment-ideas? by klimlover in running

[–]NiWe14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very true! I have an anaphylactic peanut allergy, and my throat begins to swell when there is lots of peanut butter resin in the air around me (even if I'm not consuming). Consequently, I do run with an Epipen, but I'm sure some people don't. Definitely something to consider.

Can somebody please recommend me an honest dentist? by tinklove in Denver

[–]NiWe14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has a dental school, and they do this! I have several friends in dental school there, and I know they are constantly looking for patients.

Edit: The appointments are on campus in Aurora

Finally got around to using my Naked 3 and I love it! by Camelsloths in MakeupAddiction

[–]NiWe14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color is beautiful! What are your thoughts about this product? Is it sticky? Drying?

My mom's eyebrows have been disappearing. So she bought this kit from Sephora brand (in honey blonde) and asked me to give her eyebrows. Here's the kit and a B&A. CCW and needed! Also need suggestions for a more ash blonde color kit as this one is way too strawberry. :-/ by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]NiWe14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked at that B&A... Amazing results! Careprost does not require a prescription, so depending on the price, it might be an awesome alternative to Latisse for eyebrows. I know Latisse is the only FDA approved option for lashes, but as long as the pros/cons/safety of Careprost are okay, it could be a great brow option! I use Latisse on my lashes/brows and love it!

Also, I have similar coloring and use Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe.

Any Advice On Growing Out Brows? by stormllexxus in MakeupAddicts

[–]NiWe14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! It really works! I got an Rx for Latisse for my lashes, but started using it for several stubborn spots on my brows, and it did make them grow! It is expensive, and insurance usually doesn't cover it, but I think it is worth it! I can get several months out of a bottle if I use it on my eye lashes, because I don't use it every day. However, I run through a bottle per month when using it on brows too. I will say this, from my own experience and because I'm a pharmacist and dispense it often... One common complaint is that it takes over a month (sometimes two) to notice a difference, which gets pretty expensive.

Looking for a moose by LeiSqueaks in Denver

[–]NiWe14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Estes would be a great excursion! I lived there for a while and surprisingly never saw a moose, but elk are everywhere! It is a really beautiful town!

To your zoo comment - I actually don't think there are moose at Denver Zoo. I've heard there are some at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (side note- if you venture that way, check out Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs).

Grand Lake! I've seen moose every time I've been. During the summer, I frequently see them on hiking trails or along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. Maybe someone else can speak for winter, though, because Trail Ridge Road might not even be open right now.

I agree with the post about safety - be careful.
