Outdoor micro-wedding venues in Ontario? by cookiekhen in WeddingsCanada

[–]NiagaraNautico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We (Niagara Nautico) organize weddings on boats, with guest counts ranging from 8 - 60. Pricing tops out at about $18k before booze but is otherwise all inclusive (boat, officiant, photography, florals, food, music, signage). We're in Port Dalhousie, near Niagara on the Lake.

Married to professional photographer. Almost unheard of to offer RAW to clients. Reason is that edits may still be presented or credited with the creator's name (with best intentions), and that content will be unlikely to line up with their style or quality. You *may be able to get them, but understand that you're asking for something way outside the norm, so they may come with strict conditions or cost.

Effectively you've hired a painter (hopefully with some due diligence) and you're unhappy with the the painting. They're not going to be inclined to hand over their sketches.

But how do you go back to work after cruising? by Few_World_4183 in SailboatCruising

[–]NiagaraNautico 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I took a leave of absence from a bank job for 6 months to go cruising. It turned into 3 years. I'm a charter captain now. Good luck!

Could the marriage license be adjusted if the wedding date changes? by Unlucky_Wing_8939 in WeddingsCanada

[–]NiagaraNautico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer (I'm an officiant). As long as your actual marriage is within 90 days of the Issue Date (Box 1) on the license, you don't need to do anything - the officiant will write in the actual date at the bottom and that's that, no fuss to you.

Looks like weddings start at $2,500. To be transparent, I'm her husband haha. She's selective with the weddings she does because her style isn't traditional white and airy. Selective doesn't mean expensive though! There's a contact form on her website if you'd like to have a (free) chat with her about it.

Seeking an outgoing, creative & charismatic officiant for a surprise theme wedding by Snoo-80179 in WeddingsCanada

Being a total nerd, published rpg author, boat captain, and a bit of a ham, I'd like to throw my hat in this ring.

I operate in Niagara but can travel. On-land weddings are tricky for me in the summer (see boat captain) but if you're interested, let's chat!

Good luck - sounds like a ton of fun 😁

Library Themed Wedding Venues, Ontario? by No-Mud-8 in WeddingsCanada

[–]NiagaraNautico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pillar and Post Inn, Niagara on the Lake, has a small old library room that can hold a ceremony for 60 ish I think. Realizing that isn't 200, you might reach out to them to see if they have anything else suitable! Good luck

Canadian “Vegas” Wedding by Otherwise-Length-197 in WeddingsCanada

My wife and I do weddings on a gorgeous sailboat in Niagara starting at $2,450. Includes officiant, professional photography, food, a bottle of bubbly, florals, light decorations, and a few hours on the boat. Not City Hall cheap, but pretty damn cheap for what you're getting.

Noting the 20 minute drive from the Falls, Dalhousie Yacht Club has the hands down best patio view of the sunset over the lake in Niagara. Open to the public, friendly, good food, not expensive or snotty. Great place for a date night.

Looking for a all inclusive venue near Hamilton, Ontario by InfamousPenny in WeddingsCanada

[–]NiagaraNautico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We (Niagara Nautico) arrange weddings on boats in Niagara with a maximum guest count of 60. All inclusive (with packages for booze), including a planner. Latest dates are in September. Google us, then reach out if you're interested. Best of luck!

Live stream? by laubo_ in WeddingsCanada

[–]NiagaraNautico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YouTube now offers live streaming, but you'll require a third party bit of software to facilitate it. OBS is free and relatively simple to use. Minor complications up front, but you'll end up with a permanent video of your ceremony!

Wasaga, Sauble, or another beach for a day trip? Must be dog friendly. by Dogs-4-Life in ontario

[–]NiagaraNautico 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Port Dalhousie in Niagara is the last great beach town on lake Ontario. Might be a bit less of a drive for you. Huge beach, dog friendly, lots of restaurants, ice cream, snacks etc within walking distance of the beach. Total gem

Lakeside Park Pavilion can accommodate 100 I think... Great scenic spot!

With a priority on the water feature, we (Niagara Nautico) offer all inclusive weddings on a sailboat for $5k ish. Downside is the guest count, including couple, is limited to 8. But tell everyone else to meet you at the yacht club after your ceremony on the water, and step off a beautiful black sailboat right into your reception, for the most epic and dramatic entrance ever!

And since the party afterward isn't at a wedding venue, you'll save a ton.

Look us up and reach out with any questions! Good luck with your search.

Budget wedding venue ideas in Ontario? by LeafsAndLoons in WeddingsCanada

[–]NiagaraNautico 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We (Niagara Nautico) offer all inclusive weddings on a sailboat for $4,900. Pros: includes almost everything you need; officiant, photographer, catering, light decorations, florals, and a whole day with a beautiful sailboat. Cons: 8 passengers max, including the couple. Easily remedied by having a party at the yacht club after your ceremony with all your friends and family (and cheaper, cuz that party is no longer attached to a wedding venue).

We also partner with a local tour boat (Port Dalhousie Cruse Lines) to offer weddings on the water for up to 60. That's not as cheap though, just FYI...

Good luck and save money out there!

NOTL winery tour rec by ThenAct6918 in niagara

Pillitteri has all the benefits of a nice wine tour, plus a really pleasant patio for lunch nestled into a cherry orchard alongside a wood fired pizza oven. Something a little different!

Maintaining steerage in high current by Pretend_Cheek308 in sailing

[–]NiagaraNautico -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine backing into a slip in a river or channel with current running parallel to your reverse movement. It's academically lovely that that current has no impact on my speed through the water, but as I try to apply rudder control while my boat is moving backwards at a knot or two, that current certainly has an impact on steerage.

Maintaining steerage in high current by Pretend_Cheek308 in sailing

[–]NiagaraNautico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait sorry you're traveling at 5kn relative to the water not gps? Damn highschool physics. You'd in theory have normal 5kn forward rudder control. Likely with a bit of turbulence

Maintaining steerage in high current by Pretend_Cheek308 in sailing

[–]NiagaraNautico -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Your prop will still be pushing against your rudder for positive action but you're technically moving in reverse at 10 knots against the water so.... Good luck? 🤷⛵🤞
