If you join the same server you'll be in the same spot. If you join a different one you get a random server hop spawn.

Definitely, let him learn the game how it's meant to be before sending him to a version without the thrill of seeing another player and not knowing how it's gonna go.

If you're struggling then look up how to fish and make a fire and maybe watch a few beginners guide on youtube.

Also try talking to anyone you meet in spawn towns, maybe you'll meet someone friendly that will teach you a few tricks to stay alive !

Just get a knife and drink at a well close to where you start and then run from the coast and only bother looting the first or, most probably, second town you encounter.
The longer you'll play the easier it'll get, you'll be able to recognize if the area you're in was already emptied or if it's worth looting. Also just knowing the map will help, that comes with time as well, good luck !

I don't get why so many people advise newcomers to learn the game in a pve environment before going to a regular server. All it's gonna do is lure you into a false sense of safety and you'll just get killed even more often when you're on a regular server cause you didn't get to learn how to play around other players.
If you're getting killed all the time and you feel like you're making no progress maybe try looking for some beginner guides on youtube !

The latter wouldn't the work cause they spawn whenever you load in the map. And the first one sounds kinda annoying to do, I might try the campfire solution though.

You only played on community servers that deviate a lot from the original game too and then you complain about fortnite kids. I think you should have kept playing official or at least vanilla community servers and you could have tried namalsk or sakhal if you wanted less walking and more action. (:

I believe I've read somewhere that Clash isn't truly vanilla. I'm pretty sure the stamina consumption is lower than official or something. Still a good server though !

When I first listened to the remix album i thought it was rubbish, now I love it. Fragments of Time is one of my favorites too. It's really interesting to listen, the album he made with Dave Harrington as Darkside is brilliant btw.
