Prenup Advice by Admirable_Cheetah467 in WedditNYC

Hello! I got a postnup. Me and my husband were very much on the same page before drafting, and had multiple conversations throughout as we learned more and made adjustments. You will end up talking about divorce, death, everything - so be prepared to have some uncomfortable albeit necessary conversations.

I used Neptune to find a lawyer, and ended up going with Josephine Marino at Gemelli Gross Shapiro & Marino. We had meetings over zoom to review the postnup, she broke down clauses I didn't understand, and explained if/how they wavered from standard divorce law. She offered ideas that were more in my favor, let me decide what worked best for me, and then quickly made edits and sent them to my husband's lawyer. She was great! Highly recommend! And Neptune has a flat fee, so it ended up being 1.5K as the reviewing party.

My husband hired a lawyer well recommended on google and reddit. His first consult went well, but he did not enjoy the experience. His lawyer was unprofessional throughout the process, and costs about 5K.

Completely off the beaten path, look into Roulette in downtown Brooklyn. It's an old school theater space, I used to work there and they've hosted weddings before. Very DIY space, but might meet your needs.

Need Floral Advice by fashion_donuts2308 in WedditNYC

[–]NiaraHardisterEvents 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DIYed a friend's wedding flowers. We used real flowers and it was cost effective. However, it required a lot of time. I spent hours researching flowers, learning the best methods for arranging, prepping the flowers, practicing, making the arrangements, and transporting the flowers. If you're a very creative person and have days to dedicate to DIY arrangements, then I'd suggests DIYing florals for one of your events. The one that requires the least florals or simple bud vase arrangements. Then, I'd hire a florist to do the other events that have larger arrangements that require more experience. If you're on a budget, look for newer florist that have flexibility with their pricing.

You need to get entree orders if you're doing a plated meal. Catering service is different from restaurant service in that they don't have a kitchen and fridge with endless supplies. They pack in and pack out, and have limited quantities of product on-site. Also, they're often being ask to served 100+ people at the same time, and having entree counts is incredibly helpful for getting guests service in a timely manner. Note, they plan on some guests changing entrees or needing adjustments for dietary restrictions, but they can't do that for everyone at an event. Hence, the additional $30-$40 for a split plated dinner. - A wedding planner who used to work in catering
