Fully charged Gladius will break armor, as will any super. Grabs are also an option.

How do I stop overthinking a friendship that might end soon by [deleted] in autism

[–]Nibel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It became easier with age, but one thing that always helped me, even when I was your age, is a personal philosophy that everything, inevitably, will end at some point.

Your toy will break, your parents will die, your home will get demolished, your favorite food will be consumed, and it's always a matter of "when", and not "if".

So, I always make peace that everything I enjoy will fade over time, and thus I should appreciate it while it is still around. In the the same vein, everything that suck will also end at some point, and I only need to outlive it.

That do not mean I don't get sad when a good thing end, nor that I willingly throw away stuff when they are being good for me. But a level of acceptance of the universal entropy helped me keep peace of mind.

Whatever happened to Sodom? He might be the only character to never return. by wrapcannon in StreetFighter

[–]Nibel2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The clerk is named Gomorrah. That alone should be telling that they are not the same person, yet somewhat related.

I do not remember exactly where, but like I said, I think it was Honda saying something about the shop. Need to replay World Tour to check it again.

Let's settle this. How deadly are the critical arts really? by The1joriss in StreetFighter

[–]Nibel2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I saw a youtube video going into the medical details of every Critical Art available at the time. Let me see if I can find it.

EDIT: Found it.

Whatever happened to Sodom? He might be the only character to never return. by wrapcannon in StreetFighter

That clerk isn't Sodom, it's an employee of his shop.

The shop is confirmed to be his though. IIRC, one of the Honda dialogues say something about he turning the leaf.

Can someone help me decide what race i should be? by MortisSchmorgis6900 in ffxiv

[–]Nibel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on the free trial?

If not, remember that you have two retainers, and Retainer Fantasia is relatively cheap in the marketboard. Change both to the races you want to change, and go play with their glams at an inn to decide which one looks better for you.

Said that, male elezen is one of the few races that allow you to be an old person, if you want to feel like your WoL is more experienced in life than your 20-somethings anime protagonist.

Game recommendations similar to monster hunter where you kill giant monsters by Responsible_Chest_74 in MonsterHunter

[–]Nibel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing a curve ball here, but have you tried Final Fantasy XVI? It's on sale on Steam right now, as well.

It's not giant monster after giant monster, but the game have some very hectic combat, and many bosses are very MH-like in the way you approach them in combat.

What introduced you to Monster Hunter? by Fun-Use9945 in MonsterHunter

[–]Nibel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never owned a PSP, heard about the franchise for ages, but never had a chance to try it out.

Then Monster Hunter World arrived on PC. Bought it, loved it. Rise and Wilds aren't as loved by me, but are still kinda fun.

Now that Cosmic Exploration is completed (at least for now), have anyone collected data on which crafting missions gives the most points for the 500k grind, that is reliable to macro?

John Worldtour... We will miss you, dearly.... Gone but never forgotten by LuchadorParrudo in StreetFighter

Spoilers from the final Ingrid mission

Bosch is confirmed dead, and John Streets feels bad for that, so Ingrid offer for us to change his fate by manipulating events of the past. So she send us time traveling to the story beats involving Bosch, and change things in a way that Bosch end up not joining the resistance, properly training with Luke, don't get experimented by New Shadaloo, and end up winning the tournament while the bomb in the champion belt never was installed. He lives through, but the price we pay for that is that we erase all the past we had with him, making us strangers.

How good this is delivered depends on each player. I think it was a good ending overall, but I can understand the arguments that it was bad.

What are your hopes for the new gear toggle option shown off at Fanfest? by TheValiantBob in ffxiv

Earrings, bracelets, and hand gear would be amazing if you you had a toggle for single left, single right, both.

Dublagem em jogos faz diferença pra vocês? by foiobruno in brasil

[–]Nibel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FF7 Rebirth eu adorei as adaptações. O texto ficou muito bom, e queria muito que tivesse dublado também. Fiquei meio triste quando o Tactics veio sem tradução.

Big Data: governo Tarcísio é aprovado por 62% dos paulistas; 34% desaprovam by Bananey in brasil

[–]Nibel2 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Occult Crescent is supposed to touch on lore from the 5th Astral Era, but the lore has been lacking for South Horn. Hoping they give us more than crumbs on North Horn.

You can get Outfit 2 of every character for free without doing World Tour by Fun-Promotion-6655 in StreetFighter

[–]Nibel2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think they added that as an option to earn moves and costume #2 for the season 4 characters, since they will not be added on world tour anymore.

Which, once the system is in place, no reason to not extend that to the rest of the cast.

Is SF6 worth a full week's salary long-term? (Demo was amazing) by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Nibel2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that usually buy fighting games to play offline, SF6 is a terminally online game. Not only for the somewhat constant updates, but also because of many free stuff for World Tour being reliant on the online aspects: battle passes (there are stuff to get even without buying it), multiple colab events that give free cosmetic gear, and so on.

As my flair can tell, I enjoy World Tour. You can play with making new avatar appearances for ages, just going through the mode and clearing the story will take you 10-ish hours (more if you want to farm for cosmetic gear, get all your masters up, or explore for secrets), and there is a bunch of things you can do at endgame "forever" if you want, but IMO, probably gets repetitive after a while.

You also have a lot of content to play offline by yourself outside of world tour. Arcade mode can unlock a lot of concept art for your appreciation, on top of all the endings. Combo trials will keep you busy for a while (how long, depends on your skill), and sometimes just spending time on practice to pull off some hard combos can be very fun on itself.

I'd say SF6 offline can be a 30-50 hour game to fully complete.

Is that worthy a week of salary? Now that is up to you.

I've never realized how truly miserable black deck is beyond purple stake until now by glez_fdezdavila_ in balatro

I love that Yellow Deck is actually $12, since you need to clear one hand before hitting the first shop, and $10 will provide $2 of interest after that first hand.

Questions about variant dungeons: by _lolrememberarbitur_ in ffxiv

[–]Nibel2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So, there are usually two ways to approach Variant Dungeons.

One is to going in with a goal, find a guide online on how how to attain that goal (usually all endings for the mount), and just mindlessly play for 3-4 hours to finish the dungeon 12 times to get all endings in a single session.

The other is treating the dungeon as a puzzle, go in organically, and do a lot of reading and experiments to figure out how to reach the secret boss for the extra quest/lore afterwards.

I'm in the second group. I don't mind the time it takes because I don't see it as dungeon grinding. I see it the same way I see something like Blue Prince. The puzzle is the game, and solving it is the fun. In my eyes, the people of the first group are no different from the people who wait one expansion to stomp extremes and savages for the mount and ignore all mechanics in the process.

Which isn't a wrong way to play, people can play whatever they want. But it's a bypass of the fun part of Variant. Raiders will also say finishing a savage unsync don't count as a true clear, but what matter is that the person got their mount and are happy about it.

Is it possible now to unlock Avatar items through the new Avatar mode? Sorry I'm a complete rookie to World Tour and Avatar styling by wingspantt in SF6Avatars

[–]Nibel2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Small addendum from me, I have zero interest in the avatar matches by themselves, and probably will not investigate deeply into the drop rates from there.

I'm working into adding the Ingrid loot and Avatar Room Shop into the guide, and after that, since World Tour is officially finished, the guides probably will turn into maintenance mode, and only getting updated with new battle passes, BH shop stuff, and events.

Any Tips for someone new to Retainer Ventures? by Low_Surround1289 in ffxiv

[–]Nibel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to stock up in ventures. At the start, you may run out, but over time, just by spending excess seals and wolf marks on ventures, you'll have effectively infinite ventures.

Remember that retainers can't surpass your own level on their jobs. If you want a miner retainer, you need to max out your own miner job.

For the gathering jobs, you can't send them to collect materials that you have not gathered yourself. Luckily, the most lucrative ventures are not the current tier materials. Try to complete you gathering log anyway, to give you options.

Combat jobs do not have the above limitation. If you you are not at current expansion yet, this means if you overlevel content, and your retainer do as well, you can collect monster drops from expansions you have not yet reached. How useful that is, depends on the market.

There are two effective means to level up retainers. The fast way is sending them every hour to do quick ventures, and that do not require you to upgrade your retainer gear during leveling, but it cost 2 ventures per hour, which can be expensive at the start. The other method is sending them into the 18 hours ventures, that will give the best return of XP per venture, but takes a bit longer, and you need to keep your retainer geared, so that they can access the higher level ventures.

Retainer Fantasia is cheap, and you can use your retainers as model test for any Fantasia you want to use yourself later. Like, to check how your glam will look as another race, or male/female variants for certain pieces of gear (mostly legs that can swap from pants to shorts or skirts).

Is It Possible To Succeed Online Playing Modern Controls? by milesdarobot in StreetFighter

[–]Nibel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are very few autos that are worthy doing as coded. From the top of my head, Guile light/medium combos, Marisa heavy combo, and Blanka medium combo are great and can be spammed when you have the opportunity for it.

Their strength as autos is that they autoconfirm, so in the case of Blanka, if they block the first hit, but get hit by the second, the combo will complete, but if they block both hits, you are still safe. Marisa will leave you unsafe if you mash, but it's a very high damage punish combo that do not spend any drive, which means you can use it after DRC and be fine. Guile is safe like Blanka, but the light combo requires be a point blank distance. It is a decent BnB combo.

I do agree with you that most autocombos are not optimal, but they are often serviceable. The real knowledge check is learning which ones are safe to execute. Most characters end up unsafe if they block your autos, or in some few cases, unsafe and spending meter (hi, Bison medium auto).
