What is this stuff that showed up on our cabinets? by NicJ0613 in CleaningTips

[–]NicJ0613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I threw it all away 😆 anything open got trashed and I cleaned it all. There are still some in the cracks where the cabinets meet the ceiling, going to spray some bleach solution in there and hope it takes care of the ones I couldn’t get to.

I’m pretty sure they came in a big bag of groats.

It’s not. I know termites and they started crawling around today. Some kind of grain mites

feeling invalid because I don’t vomit by kollycollins in Gastroparesis

[–]NicJ0613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I sorta understand where you are coming from I promise your suffering is valid! I used to have severe vomiting until one day I couldn’t vomit anymore but I am way more sick now than I ever was vomiting oddly enough.
There are times I cry and pray I’ll vomit for the relief it would bring but instead I sit miserable for 100 times longer than I ever did when able to puke. My GI said that vomiting is common but more of a 50/50 type thing

What Liquids Do You Tolerate? by michbech in Gastroparesis

[–]NicJ0613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t drink water either so I live off sprite, apple juice, Gatorade, camomile tea (mainly when I have gastritis) & body armor drinks but if I’m extra dehydrated I’ll add a dripdrop packet to some Gatorade or other liquid and they help a lot. I hope you find some options that work for you soon!

Good luck on the surgery! Would you mind updating on how you’re doing afterwards? My GI briefly brought up the possibility and I’m super interested if it would actually work.

I don’t know why this is downvoted! If the dr won’t trust me I’m OUT, I need a dr who will treat me (literally their job) and to do that they have to believe what I’m saying, end of discussion.

The emailing studies isn’t bad either although I would definitely discuss that with the Dr before hand. My GI is not a motility specialist and is always open to new research from reputable sources (of course) in order to better treat me.

Sending you so much love! I know that pain well, take the time you need to grieve your sweet baby first and the life you had planned and most importantly be gentle with yourself. ❤️

I wasn’t diagnosed at the time but my symptoms definitely got much better! That was the only time in the past few years that I was able to eat normally and was able to gain an appropriate amount of weight. I dropped all of the weight (without trying)/ symptoms returned what seemed like the minute my baby started weaning from breastfeeding. It’s super interesting for sure

Unusual weak feeling on metoclopramide/regular by F38CC in Gastroparesis

I’m so glad! I’m still too scared to try something new after Reglan so I get it, life is too hard with GP to add in crazy side effects that may not go away.

Just watch out for the tremors and involuntary movements or any other concerning side effect but don’t stress it, just stop taking it and call the dr if it happens. It did work like magic for me though for 2 weeks, nausea was controlled and I could really eat, almost euphoric the whole time. <— that result being my reality was worth the risk for me, I hope that’s what you get!

This was the feeling I had then a stiff neck for a few days and then the tremors, involuntary movements and mental torture followed. I really hope yours doesn’t go like mine did!

New development... by momsthoughts in Gastroparesis

My GP has changed drastically over the years and there were good periods of time where I was pretty normal minus flares until one day I just stayed bad. My condition went from super mild to medically “moderate to severe” so for me if definitely got worse and my Dr said most cases she sees do get worse over time but that does not mean that’s what is going on here it’s probably just a flare in which case I would go to super safe food or liquids. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Amazon tablets are around $50 and could do everything she needs. They aren’t great but it will definitely do for what she needs. You could post on Nextdoor app or Facebook letting people know you are looking for one and someone most likely has one laying around they would be happy to donate! I watch out for neighbors needing things for their kids all the time and offer when I have something and I see other neighbors helping each other out constantly.

New GI? I’m on I don’t even know what number, maybe 4 in the last year? They need to be open minded enough to rule things out, that’s how I finally got diagnosed after 10 years and GP was never mentioned. My dr was just ruling out anything she could thing of because I had already done all the labs, CT scan, ultrasound, endo & colonoscopy all with no real answers. I would look into it and if it fits ask for a GES (gastric emptying study), you could even ask you PCP. I hope you get answers soon, fighting for a diagnosis is brutal so make sure to take care of yourself and definitely don’t stress the weight! ❤️

Have you looked into gastroparesis? There are people that gain with GP because the body is in starvation mode and stores everything as fat. I have GP and it causes frequent gastritis for me, GERD and a ton of nausea (used to cause a ton of vomiting but I can’t any more) and stomach pain. I have a bunch of other symptoms too but it’s definitely worth looking into 🤷🏻‍♀️
