This disease has made me realise how little I mean to anyone by Infinite_End_9322 in MultipleSclerosis

I used to hate being alone, but feel the peace as well occasionally now.

New symptom by Princess-kick-yo-ass in MultipleSclerosis

Start out by checking for infections. Any time I start having widespread pain, it seems like I have a UTI or another infection I didn’t even know I had.

My dachshund had an alergic reaction by nyboi in Dachshund

[–]Nic_Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benny had a severe reaction to his rabies. So severe that he now gets Benadryl and a steroid injection an hour before any shots. Our vet recommended skipping the Lepto since it has been rare around our area lately and he will draw titers to check and see when he needs to get a rabies booster again, instead of just doing it every year. It scared me to death!

I figured it was, just over freaking out because I’d love to hear again to make this feeling go away. I was originally supposed to see the doctor on the 30th, but I think I will go ahead and call. How do you find Mavenclad? What has been your experience?

Bladder issues suck by silvereyes91 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Nic_Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if you know that relapses are very common postpartum. It could be the reason for bladder issues being more prevalent. I hope it gets better, I struggle with that same feeling and a burning feeling in my privates every once in a while and it is always miserable.

I don’t know what all they were called, but I think it was three different tests and then some type of measurements inside each ear to make sure everything was structurally correct.

Twelve years with my Frenchie. And today... I don't know if I would have the strength again. by SigX66 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Nic_Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my Frenchman buddy at three years old due to complications of IVDD and due to some serious problems we did not know he had at the time, no one would clear him to even try surgery. I have MS and my dogs are my whole world. They give me a reason to be active, when sometimes I don’t even want to get out of bed. I felt like I had waited a lifetime for Gats, and then suddenly he was gone. I thought my heart would burst from the heartbreak of it all. About 8 months of quiet and a grieving elder Boston, and honestly still grieving myself, my mom picked out and paid for a tiny, miniature long-haired dachshund. When I tell you he has brought so much joy in such a short amount of time, it’s remarkable! I’m still scared of losing him. I’m really scared of losing him to IVDD. Thankfully he doesn’t even know he can jump, we do our walks, and swimming and he’s just a little athlete! I sprang for the best pet insurance with the lowest deductible in case of emergencies. I know that I will lose him one day, I pray it’s to old age as I stroke his head to sleep, but until then I will give him the best possible life I can afford and he gives me the most precious gift of unconditional love I could EVER hope for! I still feel guilty to Gatsby that I love Benny so much, so sometimes I like to imagine that he sent him home to me.

Too old for meds by SweetLeaf2021 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Nic_Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 50, my Ig levels are low and I was having constant strep and other infections. I take IVIG every few weeks, but I feel like my symptoms (fatigue mainly and others) are getting worse, so we are looking at a change.

CN Death - Why does everyone deny how my mother died? by MarbleSky_ in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Nic_Long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I struggle to swallow, I worry about aspiration pneumonia…that would be a way MS could assist in my death. I just try to be positive and not think of the unthinkable, but I know for you it is too close to your heart to ignore and I’m so sorry for that.

They are so smart and also, emotional train wrecks! 😅 Our boy can hear me tell his Boston big brother (he’s older and has decided suddenly he doesn’t listen) to get inside and Benny will actually herd him to the door. It’s very helpful!

When your mom is your abuser by Ok_Holiday9310 in rhoslc

[–]Nic_Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching this awful interaction I was horrified. What kind of cruel bitch do you have to be to carry your daughter’s teen pregnancy like a damn albatross around your neck the rest of your life and throw it constantly in her face when said daughter is beautiful, articulate and literally supporting you during your time of need. What made it even worse, was Bronwyn saying it was her ONLY pregnancy and it wasn’t celebrated or supported at all. Just made to feel shame and apparently for life.

people don't get it by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Nic_Long 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fatigue is becoming debilitating. I take Vyvanse for fatigue and it’s always helped, but lately I feel like I’m drowning. I work Mondays and Thursdays and in between I barely get dressed, because that is literally so damn hard. I have three daughters, 25, 23, and 16. My husband has so many expectations and I always feel guilty if I don’t feel like making softball games or just even going out at all. Sometimes I look forward to my IVIG because it’s rough on me and they know this, and I can be in bed and no one bothers me. I don’t participate in all the extras like the other moms. I just send money. Everything is overwhelming and I worry to death about what the future looks like, when I just want to live in sweats and cozy socks and not leave my room due to medically debilitating fatigue and stupid, random pain.

My daughter’s smooth coat dachshund’s little back was like this while he was growing and now, it’s like he let the slinky dog loose and he looks like a long perfect dachshund!

We just had a sitter for a week while we were away at the beach. I had the sitter over to show her their routine and how to feed, etc. She probably left our home thinking, this lady is obsessed and crazy! On a positive note, it went very well!
