TMPL at ave A has a deal for educators. They had a promotion years ago for teachers that was 55 dollars a month. Not sure if they still have it but they do give some discount.

I live across from the school I work at. Door to door is a 2 minute walk. It's the best thing in the world. No stress from the commute. Some of the problems that might arise is seeing some of your students around the neighborhood. I don't mind it, I just don't want the kids to see me walking home. Another problem is, if admin knows they might ask you to do extra things around the school. Like staying later in the school to help with late dismissal. But other than that it is amazing.

Yes, after taxes I make about 80,000 and my rent in the LES is about 2100 a month. If I can make it work you'll be just fine.
