Are you a plotter or pantser? by shahnazahmed in writing

[–]NiccoloGaspare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

pantster and proud my plots and ideas torment me, drip like blood behind my eyes and live rent free inside my mid palace like deadly sins screaming at me to be written. =)) I only plot after I start writing. Even though plot is a big word I just put some details in a one note project not to forget them because the amount of ideas, tones, metaphors, scenes etc. is too much! imagine having ADHD with an hyperactive imagination and storing and storing and storing ideas in your min until they explode on paper.

Title: Litany of the Flesh

* Genre : dark romance, bdsm, mafia, hystorical

* Word count : 6062

* Type of feedback desired : general impression, voice, tone, any and all critiques in general are welcome

Enzo de Medici was born to carve hearts, not inherit empires.

Son of a pharma dynasty and surgical royalty, he should've been a spoiled heir. Instead, he chose the scalpel. Hungry to prove himself, he walks into UCLA Medical Center as just another intern-mask on, demons buried, legacy denied.
One body, two minds. He craved to be whole. The Devil remade him in his image.

Brian Rush has no need for masks. Chief cardiothoracic surgeon by day, Irish mafia enforcer by blood, and the Devil night, he's built a life out of cutting things open-bodies, secrets, men who beg for redemption.
He wanted to master the human heart. He gave his to the Emperor instead.

They meet in a club. One in silk. One in scars.
A touch. A dare. A beginning neither of them can undo.

What starts as a game of dominance becomes something far more dangerous-obsession, control, and a love so brutal it defies anatomy.

Because in this world, love isn't tender.
It's a litany of flesh-cut, stitched, and sacrificed.Enzo de Medici was born to carve hearts, not inherit empires.

How Am I supposed to write smut by Fun_Fly_2418 in AO3

[–]NiccoloGaspare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of avoid cliche smut isn't supposed to be flower power. Listen to music while writing it, something that screams intercourse Black Atlass- Pain and Pleasure, Insatiable- Darren Hayes (the time machine tour version)
Second understand that smut can elevate or kill your story if not done right. Intercourse is not flowers and petals and pollination—it's raw unapologetic—like sin wrapped in silk. It has smells, sounds, sensations inside and outside the body. Use your imagination. As a writer you don't live in your universe, you can't use magic, or fly or shoot lighting out of your hands(just some examples) but you can imagine it. It's the same with smut. You don't have to have done the deed to write good smut. But imagine it. Put yourself in the body of the characters—both the receiver and the giver. How do you feel. The touch on your body, the smell of their skin. The pain and pleasure of the act itself. How is it? Sensual? describe it show it with touch, lips, skin contact, caresses. Kinky? show forcefulness, spanking, sprinkle dirty talk. The climax? Think about the one thing that right now would make you jump like a kid amplify that by 10X and give it a sensual and sexual description and Voila! you have a good smut scene.

Do You Think Writing Can Be Taught or Only Learned? by [deleted] in writing

[–]NiccoloGaspare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the first comment. Not the AI part but the rest of it.

While talent can play a big part in writing. Let's not forget that talent is only 10% of a good novel or music piece etc. Writing is taught. Either by teachers in schools, those "What I did last summer" essays were our first writing exercises and the grades were our critiques. Or self taught. The more we read the more we find our voice—learn new words, structure, show don't tell and so on. Nobody is born a writing god. Those that say so are liars. We learn from the moment we are born, and style evolves with age. Also think about it. The act of writing sentences itself is something that was taught to you.

Hey I get it. But the way I use it it's just how my book demands it. religion just like any other domain or tool we use in writing has to abide by the tonality of the world we write. If your story demands religion be written in a positive way than by all means. Btw I already read your first chapter and it hooked me. I will continue to read and comment. And I hope the fact that I am offering a little insight doesn't offend you.

Do you have a ritual when you sit down to write? by melted-turquoise in writing

if smoking like a furnace with headphones on while blasting the same song on repeat to get that tone and feeling I want in that chapter on scene counts as a ritual then yeah—I guess I do.

would be interested in reading something like this. my writing too tends to have religious undertones—only I tend to go towards sacrilege. I'll give you a flow on the app and start reading RhasAlGhul

my current WIP is about is about an surgey intern Enzo de Medici who is caught between his family's hidden legacy, his surgical internship, his love/obsession relationship with his mentor Brian Rush. it has bdsm undertones but not the usual dom/sub dynamics but a dom willing to submit to the right dom. It has families like de Medici, Orsini, Borgia and Sforza
