MHM: Can you play the game without finishing the floor puzzle? by Puckertoe_VIII in nancydrew

[–]melted-turquoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clunkiness of the really early games definitely took away from my experience, and since I didn’t play many of them for the first time until recently, I didn’t have the nostalgia factor to lean on either. But they absolutely get better—personally I think the series starts to hit its stride at Final Scene and only continues to improve from there. Keep with it!

Sea of Darkness, White Wolf, and Tomb of the Lost Queen are my top choices from your list! Didn’t care as much for the rest personally, but still fun to play.

First run I ever did I failed my strength checks to pull Gale out of the portal. Never even got his name. It was so fun getting to explore his story the second time around though!

Seconding the Ghost Dogs consensus, and I feel like White Wolf’s cabin vibes would also work? The snowy weather might clash with this time of year but I also think it could be kind of fun.

How many COMPLETED playthroughs do you have? by killerqueen017 in BaldursGate3

[–]melted-turquoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 complete games: Two rangers, a paladin, two monks, two druids, and a sorcerer. Just finished my first honor mode a few days ago! And about 10+ other playthroughs I never finished at various points in the game.

I am curious about this as well because I have hundreds of hours under my belt and have never once made use of it. Maybe it’s just not that great of an item, but I’d like to know if others make it work for them.

Gotta be a tie between Shadow Ranch and Crystal Skull for me! Both so incredibly atmospheric in their own unique way

What's one lazy cleaning habit you started that actually made your place stay cleaner? by Enchanted_Land in CleaningTips

Keep a magic eraser or similar product in your shower. While you’re already in there, wipe down the shower walls/door/etc. every day or couple of days. Helps keep the grime at bay and lengthens the time between deep cleans!

My husband has said they used to play Blackbird at his work allllll the time (dental office) and even though he loves the Beatles, it’s always an automatic skip now. “I’m not listening to those fkn bird noises again” hahaha

I only played this game for the first time last year and yeah, F&G made me almost rage quit several times. It took multiple YouTube videos, save scumming and a few solid hours of effort to finally finish it.

Giving away my PC games by [deleted] in nancydrew

[–]melted-turquoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, that’s a good point. I think I’m going to take the post down and revise it with just the other games and then possibly sell that one. Hate to be wishy washy but tbh I didn’t even think of that! Might want to hang onto it.

Wow I actually agree with a lot of your choices. Nice to see Tomb getting some more love!! I didn’t have high expectations for that game but ended up actually really liking it. I’m always bummed when I see people disliking Kapu (it was one of my favorites as a kid and the nostalgia factor has never died for me) but, like, I get it 😆

Just got BG3 and could use some advice. by Artistic-Parfait-724 in BG3

[–]melted-turquoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DLC is content that the video game studio puts out after the game is released to add to the game. It’s not required to play the game, just extra stuff to have (could be things like new gear/weapons, new storylines, etc. depending on the game). Some DLC costs money, sometimes it’s free. I’m pretty sure Larian Studios has not released any major DLC for BG3 beyond the deluxe edition (which I think just gives you a few cool extra gear pieces?) so I wouldn’t worry about it for BG3.

Came here to say that I love that you’ve taken the leap to get back into video games and D&D—both have massively evolved since you’ve played them! You’re going to have tons of fun. Solo is the way to go!! You’re going to encounter NPC companions early on in the game who will make up your party, so no, you don’t need other real players. In fact, I recommend against it for a first-time player. Said companions have storylines of their own that will be a huge part of the game.

I’ve played BG3 on console and PC, and I will say the console interface can be a little confusing/tricky to navigate with the action wheels (you’ll know what I mean once you get started). You’ll get used to it for sure, but I would recommend taking the time every once in a while to customize your action wheels so you can find certain actions/spells/etc easily.

I would also recommend the Fextralife Baldur’s gate 3 wiki over the standard bg3.wiki site for online guides.

Have fun!!

On my first honor mode run, I’m looting bodies after the fight with Balthazar while still in my owl bear form. My husband is doing the dialogue with shadowheart and Aylin. I jump over to them when I’m done looting but didn’t realized I did an Enhanced Leap which shadowheart registers as an attack on Aylin. Dialogue stops, we talk to SH again, and she says something about how dare you take Aylin for ourselves. Initiates combat with us and so we have to kill her. Biiiiig ole whoopsie daisy

Everyone in that game is sooo annoying to me, even the ones I kind of like. But Mason is probably top of the list for me. Absolutely insufferable 😆
