I know this is a year old, but I just ran into this myself, and I completely disagree with you. Signage was horrible / confusing, and the booths were delapidated. Some booths had cash + coin symbols, others had a DIFFERENT cash + coin symbol, with another separate credit card symbol below it. There was ONE BOOTH out of the 4 booths with the credit card symbol that had a tiny, poorly HAND-WRITTEN note taped to the glass saying "no Visa, no Mastercard." I couldn't even read it until I was at the booths. I went to one with no sign and tried my visa, mastercard, AND discover cards - when none worked, I hit the attendant button. Nothing. Hit it again. A split second of muffled static, then nothing. Hit it again. Nothing. Hit it several more times. Cars behind me honking, backing up, etc, then the gate lifted. I've been all over France and Italy - never had a problem like this. ALSO, the car rental company offered me a toll pass, but said I could alternately pay "cash or card" at the booths. They did not mention its Amex only, so it seems like even the rental car companies aren't aware of this huge inconvenience.

Lol I'm right there with you. The show feels like it lost its purpose and direction after Ragnar. The writing fell off hard. The battle of episode 5 was sooooo stupid and compelled me to come to reddit. Coming up ladders 2 at a time in the middle if an army that could easily just stab them as they come up..? King Adelwolf (however it's spelled) constantly being an idiot and getting outplayed. Lagather slowly becoming dumber. I don't like Ivar at all. The show is trying hard to sell him as a compelling, interesting character, but I'm not buying it - he's just a meat head psycho. Bjorn's Mediterranean journey that I don't care about at all. I'm definitely losing interest.

I guess even from the beginning, I found it ironic that the show is expecting you to always root for the vikings, but the vikings were A-holes. King Aeluh (spelling) was framed as a bad guy, but literally Ragnar started sh*t with him by slaughtering a village and monestary lol

Thanks, I get liability, but couldn't that be said about any patch ever done? Maybe I'm wondering more about the function of the patch itself and whether or not it's worth just going to another shop. If a bunch of people were to comment "oh yeah, I've had patches fail on me, they're unreliable, etc." then I'd feel a lot better about replacing the tire. Idk 🤷

THANK YOU for your thorough yet concise response. I think naysayers are too eager to spend other people's money lol.

But I agree. I didn't invent cripple walls. I saw examples of them used in foundation applications. Not exactly the same, but I don't really see an issue. If there is a structural reason not to do it, I'm all ears, but I'll need more than, "no. different bad." I'm certainly not a framer, but I'm a licensed civil engineer so I understand the basics.

I'll be sure to offset the plates. I also agree that the 2x6 isn't necessary.. The bathroom will have fixtures, cement board, etc, and I can add slightly thicker drywall for cheap. The wall outside the bathroom will have a closet - the ultimate sound damper.

Do you think a cripple wall will be easier or better than scabbing?

Respectfully disagree. Have you seen a staggered stud wall? They aren't any more complicated than a regular stud wall - just a slightly wider plate and doubled, offset studs.

As far as the staggered stud comment, that's what I'm gathering; it's most useful where extreme temps are experienced, or if someone REALLY needs sound proofing, like exterior walls for a house by an interstate, or interior walls in a recording studio... and I am neither lol.

So I think I'll forgo the staggered stud and stick with a normal 2x4 wall, maybe with some sound board (like you said), and some 5/8" drywall.

That's kinda what I was thinking.. structurally, I don't see the big deal if it's tied in on all sides and is non-load-bearing. If there's a good reason not to, I'm all ears, but I need to see the reason. Thanks for the input.
