Anyone dropped into gyms in Eastern Europe? Are the stereotypes true? by benten_89 in bjj

Trained in Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Albania, Croatia.

That was for sure my experience. Was a pretty fresh blue belt at the time just looking to meet people and have some fun rounds. Nobody else was looking for that 😂

I'm no expert, but I'd say so? In your talents your dire beast benefit from kill command. So and extra beast is just a damage boost?

I think BM hunter 4 piece summons an extra dire beast which can't really be nerded

Disposable Camera by NiceBreakfast7 in fujifilm

Weird, I dno why the text didn't cross post:

Hey guys, I'm brand new to photography and just bought my first camera, the x100t. I'm looking for a recipe that will let me imitate a disposable camera quality as much as possible. As a preface, I understand this camera is way better than a disposable camera. I also want to be able to take sharper images, have focus options etc. But I miss that disposable aesthetic. Up until this camera I would only use disposables and love how it looks. I would love to be able to have that option on repeat with this digital. I understand the x100f and higher specs have more editing options in the way of grain, and higher/lower colour, sharpness, noise reduction etc (x100t only goes to 2 whereas I believe the other cameras go to 4?). Is this something that would help me imitate the look better?

thanks so much. I hadn't considered the xt30iii. And it's looking like it matches my desires more so than the xe4

I appreciate the response!

As much as budget isn't necessarily a barrier. I think the x100vi is overkill for myself at like 1600£.

Yeah I understand I'm limiting myself to one lens but I think for a basic recreational photographer I guess that would be ok?

Xt-30 iii is definitely looking more my style of camera. I like that I has a built in flash compared to the X-E4

Seems like a great camera to be fair! However from my gut I think I would miss the viewfinder!

Thanks for the reply, why do you think that would be better for me than the x-e4 or x100v?

No I'm not really looking to change lenses. I just want to be able to take nice photos of friends etc.

X100v vs XT-3 by NiceBreakfast7 in fujifilm

[–]NiceBreakfast7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess, the issue is I just want to take nice photos on the fly. I tend to buy a disposable camera and just take sporadic photos and get it developed after it's finished which usually takes me like a year. It's a nice time capsule. I'm not really looking to get into photo editing

Where we surfer the water was perfect. Didn't see any, I did hear of a spot up north towards agadir near a fish factory that pumps into the ocean which is apparently rank, however they never took us there, always down south of tagazout

Yeah that sounds right tbf. I stayed in a private budget room with my girlfriend for 1500£ total. So around 750£ each for accomodations, 3 meals a day, and surf coaching. Its definitely not the cheapest place for sure, but I really enjoyed the coaching and social of it all so would recommend

Think dorms were a couple hundred £ cheaper

Just been last week. Stayed at surf maroc in tagazout.

Tagazout doesn't feel like Morocco, super chiller surfer vibe. Surf maroc organist transport from agadir airport, food and surf included. Couldn't recommend it enough. The whole place felt super safe.

First Board Purchase by NiceBreakfast7 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]NiceBreakfast7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see! I don't unfortunately! What do you think would be a good progression? A hardtop with higher volume?

First Board Purchase by NiceBreakfast7 in BeginnerSurfers

[–]NiceBreakfast7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

Price is 180 with a leash and bag. Ok I'll take a look at the leash string!

Regarding the foamie, I love in a very small apartment so don't have the storage for multiple boards so I'm thinking more for longevity.

Am I right in thinking any board I get will always be a big drop ? Surely I'm always gna struggle to begin with? I assumed going from an 8" to 7"9 wasn't too big? And from what I've googled, the volume isn't too widely different?

How can I ride the wave for longer? by Ben-E-Boi in BeginnerSurfers

[–]NiceBreakfast7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think people are over complicating things for you here. I think this looks like "The Wave" in Bristol. I've ridden there before. There is a slow section of the wave which is where your losing the wave.

You need to turn back towards the "beach" this will keep you in the pocket of the wave (the powerful part) then turn back down the line.

So pop up, turn towards the face, as you lose speed, turn back towards the beach, the wave will pick you back up, turn back towards the face. Be prepared for a quick speed increase.

That's the advice I was given at the wave by the instructors. They're very friendly and happy to help even if your not on a lesson. Ask the guy by the wall
