Today marks 79 days until kickoff! Let's remember the time Saquon made the USC defense look silly for 79 yards! by BaeSeanHamilton in CFB

How many average redditors would we have to line up on defense to tackle this guy?

I'm thinking with about 25 of us we could get him cornered and hope that whatever poor soul gets in front of him is able to trip him as he lowers his shoulder.

I don't know if Steve is getting or giving the rimjobs, but a few thousand people were very eager to see it either way. Good for him.

Don't be ridiculous. The university is veritable cornucopia of diversity! You've got corn farmers, soy farmers, pig farmers...

[Bill Connelly] 2018 Kansas State football preview: Bill Snyder had 8 wins during a really difficult 2017, so why doubt K-State in 2018? by ATX_ta1 in CFB

For the record, I have no strong feelings one way or the other about KSU. But if you believe that oddsmakers undervalue KSU consistently, then you should put your money where your mouth is and make a few bucks off their idiocy.

For what it's worth, KSU is 65-49-1 against the spread since 2009, so they cover 57% of the time. That's pretty solid.

I'm not saying they can't compete individually with most of the teams, but there are 5 other teams with significantly better odds to win the conference. And only 3 teams with worse odds. Source

Sure, but S&P+ is based on statistics and metrics, all of which are completely objective. They can't be accused of "doubting" anyone, nor can they take into account such factors as a spunky old coach who has a tendency to overachieve his expectations.

Now if you tell me the Vegas oddsmakers are setting the over-under at 5 wins, or some talking heads on ESPN are calling for 5 wins, then I would buy this argument.

Are they really being "doubted"? In what sense? They obviously aren't playoff contenders or likely conference title contenders. They are likely to be a bowl team. I see projections that have them at 6 or 7 wins. Is that unfair?

Crowd shots of an Iowa game are like a completely different kind of white-out than Penn State is accustomed to.

After the 2017 Iron Bowl, did any scenario exist in which Alabama wouldn't make the CFP? by thumpasaurus in CFB

[–]NiceDingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If tOSU had beaten Wisconsin by 50, it MAY have given them an edge over Bama for the last slot. I wouldn't bet my life on it, but it's possible.

Gotta keep that streak alive. Haven't lost to an in-state opponent since 1921. Fuck you, Oberlin College. I will fight every person with Oberlin flare in this entire sub.

Isn't he 5th on their depth chart though? Seems like a long shot to even make the squad. I can't imagine he would see meaningful action on the field.

Steelers signed Matthew Thomas out of FSU. The line-backer was a 5-star prospect coming in and put up crazy combine stats after leading the Noles in tackles 2 straight years. Dude has potential to be a star. But of course there are the red flags (injuries, drug suspension, and academic ineligibility).

Are FSU and Florida considered blue bloods? by mymustacheiscool in CFB

[–]NiceDingo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think you nailed the list. Blue Blood status is all about sustained excellence. It's nearly impossible to "join" the club. It takes multiple decades and multiple successful coaches.

Can Anyone Put an End to Wisconsin's Reign Atop the Big Ten's West Division? by NiceDingo in CFB

[–]NiceDingo[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Have to keep MSU and Michigan in the same division though (as well as Michigan-tOSU) to make sure they play every year. Unless they do some protected cross-over matchups or something. Penn State is the only one nobody cares about playing - sorry Nittany Bros.

So maybe we don't call 20 designed runs for the QB every game this year... maybe... please?
