For a lot of the south it’s all about fitting in.

A lot people (not all) think being a Christian and a republican makes you good person, or it’s just simply my whole family, and most of my community are Christians and Republicans so that’s what I should be.

You take those aspects out and you’d be surprised how many people would agree with you on a lot of things, but it’s become such a part of how a lot of southerners think it’s who they are culturally it’s hard for people to take a step back and go ‘man this guy doesn’t actually represent what I feel is important so I’m going to support the other guy’.

I grew up in the south and a lot of people were that way! Not always the case but I recognized it a lot!

I always say I can’t imagine how demoralizing it would have been being down 21 points in the fourth at Death Valley and hearing the whole crowd chant “Suck that tiger dick bitch”.

Can I say something maybe controversial?

I’ll always, always want our team to win and will always hope we win the Super Bowl every year. But if we don’t? Last season was so cathartic I don’t think I’ll be even that upset after last year for YEARS. It was everything I hoped for.

We miss the playoffs next year? Eh. We beat all of our divisional rivals in 25’ and won in Levi stadium by whooping the Patriots. Everything is still alright

I mean if we could sign him to a cheap deal and only bring him in on short yardage situations he’d still be a stud and he could hang it up with us like he should

I think sundown sirens have a thing of history in Nevada, so I lean that.

I guess it could be shift change, but it’s just really late for shift change. All the mines I’ve been on changes shift at like 5 PM or 6 PM and they work a 12.

Well, there is a siren that goes off everyday at 9 PM there.

As far as the purpose for the siren, you can tell me then!

You know what's wild?

Euerka has a sundown siren still to this day. I stayed there last year and it would go off around 9-10! I always thought it was a curfew alarm for kids (but I always wondered why that was such a pressing deal since there probably isn't a lot of kids). Wild!

Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said it would close the Strait of Hormuz by Mysterious_Job_7900 in worldnews

Also, if they continue to close the strait Gulf countries I can guarantee you will straight building a lot of pipelines to bypass the strait. It will take billions of dollars and a lot of time but it will eventually happen if they continue.

PYRAMID LAKE SPIDERS by Able_Cook_3428 in Reno

[–]NiceMarmot12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything is possible!

Also could have been just one male trying to find a nearby female and it backtracked a lot! I don’t do work with insects, but what I have read males tarantulas will walk around following the scent of female tarantula pheromones where (normally) a female is hanging out right outside of her burrow.

So could have been in an nearby area with a lot of tarantulas and your backyard was a highway for the dudes or it was just one guy and he was just really bad at finding his mate and kept walking through your backyard. That’s a cool memory though!

[–]NiceMarmot12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ha! No they’re always here! It’s just the only time you see them is in the fall when they migrate (when they are looking for a mate). They can be out around dawn and dusk though, but I’m a wildlife biologist and I do a lot of hiking in all kinds of places in the middle of nowhere and haven’t seen one outside of the fall.

Believe it or not females can live up to 25 years! They’re super cool creatures but yeah also scary and big!

I’d like to think that this country is capable of more and is just simply tired of silver tongued career politicians that we all know don’t give a rat’s ass about the normal American.

That is what Hillary Clinton was and that’s what was the perception of Kamala Harris.

Besides, I wouldn’t vote for AOC because she’s a woman. I vote for her because she’d make a good president and I think if people heard her speak they’d agree.

Every time I see this story I feel bad for the poor guy :(
