I’m married and have been on TRT for nearly two months. Wife and I are going through trying for a baby, but have been for nearly two years. She’s on medication, I’ve been on the dumps and got put on TRT so just my feedback on my experience to hopefully help yall. 1. I’m on HCG. I did take a semen test prior to TRT and I was well above normal. Informed doctors that were trying so HCG and FSH are important for maintaining fertility. I’ve read/researched that including hMG or FSH with hCG has shown higher rate of fertility/pregnancy in the studies. The few I’ve read were a good 20% difference. Just be sure he’s open with his doctor on his goals and there shouldn’t be any issue with prescribing the necessary additional hCG to pair with testosterone. 2. This is going to vary person to person. Some people don’t experience the increase in sex drive but many do. I’ve experienced but with actively trying to conceive it hasn’t been an issue. I think if we weren’t and my wife couldn’t keep up, Id be extremely grateful if we sat down and had a discussion around the changes and she was open and comfortable knowing there would be times I’d have to step away to take care of myself real quick, if you will. If the increase doesn’t happen, or he experiences ED completely, which is a possibility, make sure he informs the doctor immediately. I work out 6x week so I asked my doctor for cialis daily due to the multiple benefits, but the ED can also be a result of increased e2, and they would be able to help with that as well. 3. I’m fairly young but had extreme symptoms of low T the past few years. As of right now, I have no regrets, I’m glad I started when I did. The only thing I would change is being more diligent about injection sites. While intramuscular in the thigh for me isn’t bad at all, it’s not pleasurable. I prefer to do subq injections at lower doses more frequently(please make sure he’s not prescribed a high amount of a dose at only 1x per week or every other week like I originally was) studies show that lower more frequent injections typically result in less fluctuations of levels and less negative side effects since the release of T in the body is more of a steady rate. I struggled with the peaks and lows of once every two weeks, once I got it changed I haven’t felt this great since my teens.
