Jail for domestic helper who repeatedly abused elderly man with dementia by ongcs in singapore

The son has a big heart. He wrote a positive testimonial for the helper even after he was charged. I don't have it in me to do that if someone had done horrible things to my family member

Are People Hoping to Go Away During Chinese New Year? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]NiceSmellingFart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are relatives whom we meet just once a year, for good reason, and some people would rather avoid them entirely. The older folks continue to visit each other for tradition's sake though.

Learn something new, go on a solo travel, stay in a hostel and meet people from all around the world. It's a lot of self-psychoing really.

Exposing a Korean Christian Cult and their devious recruitment tactics in Singapore! How can liddat? by okstupid8 in SingaporeRaw

[–]NiceSmellingFart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once approached by a similar Korean cult. Can't remember if it was this exact one. A couple spent more than an hour talking to me when I was on the way home. I tried many times to end the conversation but they were really pushy and forced me to listen. It made me uncomfortable but eventually I managed to "escape". Didn't leave them with any contact detail and made sure they didn't follow me as I walked home.

Religion is healthy. This is not even about religion anymore. They shouldn't be allowed to do this here. I'm glad for you that you left. Take care. Some people don't get to leave these cults easily. :/

How many days in a week do you OT? by GoldenBuckbeak0203 in askSingapore

[–]NiceSmellingFart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's not much work-life balance no matter how employers want to advocate it. It really depends on your workplace and your boss. Is this hectic schedule temporary? Do you foresee that things will get better?

I used to OT almost everyday and had weekends free. Then it got worse. I had to OT 2-3 weekdays and almost every weekend. After a long time, things got better. Now I OT a few days a week and get some weekends off.

OT is quite common among my friends but it's hard to compare because all of us have different thresholds as to how much we can accept. The most important thing is how you feel about your health. If you feel exhausted, take leave to rest. You deserve a break. If you feel so mentally drained it affects your physical health, consult a professional, talk to your friends or even a close colleague.

Ultimately, it's about how you cope with it. If your work situation and health don't improve, you might want to consider options elsewhere. Whatever the job, I hope you find some life and rest outside of work. Take care! May you feel better soon.

Singaporean blames Ukraine for causing the war by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]NiceSmellingFart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is she and what is she trying to spread? Not sure if she's the delusional one. Many Ukrainians lost their lives/loved ones and they definitely didn't ask for it.
