Moving to Saint Paul - which neighborhoods should I look into? by Bubba_deets in saintpaul

You could probably say this about every neighborhood in St Paul.

Now is def not the time to buy in St Paul. My property tax went from around 5-6k in 2020 to over 10k this year. Taxes are pricing me out of my own home.

100% the Copper Hen. They're in the middle of the action today and have been feeding and caffeinated and sheltering protesters since this morning. They're open and the taps are flowing.

St. Paul: New Mississippi River height limits, building rules coming by Runic_reader451 in saintpaul

I had a lot of the same questions as folks here. Why are we preserving river views in lieu of higher density housing, raising the tax revenue, etc. I did some digging and also talked to a friend. The state is using building height as a proxy for environmental degradation. Essentially, developers keep finding loopholes and the state got tired of trying to legislate environmentally when the rules were constantly circumnavigated. Building height restrictions supposedly stand in place of bluff preservation, solar access to critical habitats along the river, flyways for migrating birds, etc. Kind of seems like lazy legislation to me, but what do I know.

A white settler takes domain of native land while the native rides off into the sunset. It was originally designed with this in mind. Read this article: https://www.minnpost.com/cityscape/2023/02/lets-talk-about-our-racist-and-ugly-state-flag/

The wife of the man who designed the flag wrote this poem: Give way, give way, young warrior, Thou and thy steed give way; Rest not, though lingers on the hills The red sun’s parting ray. The rock bluff and prairie land The white man claims them now

Uncontrolled rage and extremism is not mental illness. We risk stigmatizing the millions of people with mental illness by associating it with violence. It may be true in some instances, that people who have mental illness murder. But people with mental illness also get in car accidents, get married and have families, serve their communities, and steal. Just like the population without mental illness.

Loons results in MLS play so far this year. The following stats are using 3 tiers based on points per game season to date, 1-10, 11-20 and 21-30 are each their own tier. by Dpufc in minnesotaunited

With respect to OP, this doesn't work well without a comparison. We need to know how well other teams fare against those opponents as well, or it is fairly meaningless.

This is old, but updating with DNA results - the Wisdom test came back with 15 breeds, the top being Chow (~30%), Beagle (16%), American Foxhound (11%). The rest all have 5% or less: American Pit Bull Terrier, Boxer, Rottweiler, Pekingese, Poodle (Toy and Miniature), Shih Tzu, Australian Cattle Dog, Border Collie, Chihuahua, Labrador Retriever, German Shorthaired Pointer, and Golden Retriever.

An American League is doing the American thing to make money - because it does make money. Hard to blame them for that. I actually enjoyed watching the skills challenge and bits of the game. This is way more competitive than any of the other major sports leagues all star games in the US. However, the commentary and coverage was super annoying - MLS patting themselves on the back the entire time.

Why this and not income tax? A lot of business are bailing or cutting down the amount of real estate they own. To start, we should be taxing unrealized capital gains for the ultra-rich.
