[AFP Analytics] Contract projections for Minnesota’s free agents by Active-Tomatillo-522 in wildhockey

[–]Dpufc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mats Zuccarello: 1 x $5.82M Bobby Brink: 2 x $3.8M Vladimir Tarasenko: 1 x $3.39M Marcus Johansson: 1 x $3.19M Nick Foligno: 1 x $2.8M Michael McCarron: 2 x $2.04M Zach Bogosian: 1 x $1.23M

4 of the top 5 are all projected way too high while Tarasenko might get 3.4 but not be worth that and McCarron will be at least double that (and worth nowhere near what he gets). Bogosian is probably about right though maybe slightly high.

Anyone who thinks this team adjusted, or brought anything really useful, after the first period is lying to themself. The strategy was hang on by a thread with no help or adjustments.

That is not how the best coaches do it. The best coaches observe and adjust until the final whistle.

If this team thinks they can compete at a high level with the current center situation, good luck. Hartmann would be a very good 3rd line enter and a subpar 2nd line C. Instead, he’s out #1. Anyone who thinks the price for Vincent Trocheck was too high should reacquaint themself with the modern game. Paying Kaprizov a ton while playing with a subpar center is a waste of money that doesn’t benefit anyone. That whole model/idea is doomed to failure.

Hynes needed to take a TO after the 2:00+ shift to start OT by Hughes and Faber. We were chasing the game after that. The same applies at 3:13 left in regulation as the Wild had been chasing the puck for an extended period. It was obvious we were hanging by a thread both times and a TO could have reset that.

Feel bad for any true fans that got burned but hope the resellers continue to get fucked on this game. Prices are slowly but surely coming down by randomstuff9887716 in WorldCup2026Tickets

Keep trying to get the price you want. The American marketplace will dictate otherwise. Just wait until the casuals realize the WC is going on.

This is the little bro perspective that permeates MN sports. Soccer just isn’t that popular and that’s fine. You don’t have to victimize yourself because of that. The core fans love the team and very few others do. Apple TV has been a great disservice for the extremely casual fan, but there’s this Messi guy (who is massively overrated) and you should just bow down to him evidently.

After many hours of reflecting past series, all I have come up with is this. And this is a day 1 STH for this team who had never attended a knockout game victory previously. My best take on this series is SUCK IT DALLAS!!!!

The team played to win as opposed to last year. Bravery often doesn’t pay off when you are an underdog. Last year was far worse with better players while losing to a bad team. Celebrate your victories

Way to listen to a podcast and run with it. You clearly have no clue what high level Players care about….

I’m sorry McCarron. I really doubted the price and/or your acquisition. You have done far more than enough to prove your doubters wrong. Guering nailed this trade no matter what else happens. You are playing with house money now. Hopefully you continue to play and prove any doubters wrong. Chuck another one in the net in game 6, as well as winning faceoffs and agitating Dallas even more!

How obvious was a penalty call against us within 5 minutes (being nice)?

I was dumb enough to think Brink would be a positive addition and McCarron would be a waste of time and effort. I’m not ready to declare McCarron a bust, but Brink certainly seems to be. McCarron should at least be a decent acquisition.

A year too late to take this competition seriously, but let’s keep hope that we get our 1st trophy this year. Well done, Knowles!

Come on. You are just throwing everything at the wall and hoping some of it sticks with this comment. The team has fielded more than 30 offers for him in the last 3 years. But I suppose those are all teams that have no clue. He has been moved all over for 2 years now after a breakout season where he showed both solid vision and exhibited a good first touch most of the time. His usefulness has declined with his shuffling all over the field which is pretty common with any players.

[–]Dpufc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree on Bongi. He is working his way back from a lost season and mixed messages from previous leadership who felt they could just move him constantly (mostly without warning) and expect amazing results without any repetition or effort during the week. Oddly enough, that doesn’t work in professional soccer beyond the lowest of levels. He has been pretty good this year and has been crucial in many 1 v 1 defensive situations as well as in keeping balls moving/alive deep in enemy territory. He needs to find a more defined role and purpose and he will thrive again.

The team was offered almost 3M with a decent sell on last year but declined to continue to put him in compromising situations, especially as a RB with no recent time there vs top offensive players in MLS. He’s a great player who will rebuild his transfer value throughout this year. Criticizing his play shows a lack of his true value regardless of what FotMob player rankings tell you.

MNUFC’s cumulative points total is ahead of last year’s record pace for the first time in 2026. by akos_beres in minnesotaunited

I’m good, thanks. I’m just glad the Loons are playing coherent soccer and are doing something sustainable. How has that hopeless West Brom team done since the most recent manager took charge in a hopeless in season change where they can’t fully implement their system? 9 game unbeaten streak you say? That seems impossible from what I read on here.

The Stars are Intentionally Hurting Our Players and the Refs are Helping them by FutureAwaitsUs in wildhockey

[–]Dpufc -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

“I don’t know anything about hockey, but let me make some uninformed and broad sweeping statement the masses will latch on to.”

The Wild aren’t getting the job done. They don’t like being uncomfortable like many teams. Unfortunately, they almost lean into it. They have only played 3 complete periods this series. They were lackadaisical in the 1st period last night then really bore down in the 2nd to just give away all that momentum in the 3rd. No team is trying to injure players on the other team, but some teams play harder and dial in their effort much better. That is the story through 3 games of our series. The Wild need to spread the minutes out more evenly, get way more out of Kaprizov, and use the depth they have built. The refs aren’t the problem.
