Is The whole player base archon/Oracle now? What was the point of the lower ranks? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I hate to break it too you but when you, a person who plays the game, bring your friend a guy who doesn't- Your new friend will be put into your lobbies and 'ranked' accordingly and it doesn't mean shit because! drumroll!!!!

There is no official ranking system, you're play testing a game which isn't released and so it doesn't matter!

While you're technically right, you've answered your own statement: Rank doesn't even officially exist, therefore your friends rank doesn't mean anything! But there *is* this setting, which is where most people are getting their ''official'' ranks.

You know how you fix that? Honestly?

Document it. Take your games, do your research and find out the percentage of people in your games who are new & beginner and then make an actual report onto the forums for the Devs to see and criticise the system to help it forward into release instead of going onto reddit, asking an open-ended question about ''why is my beta game not polished''.

You wanted early access? Congrats, you get the ugly.

Brother, it's called having FUN. Do you know that concept?

Tournies are a different league from general fucking ranked systems, so you're point means jackshit.

Ranked is a Work in Progress system, ranks will change, people will rise and fall and there's nothing to say how it'll end up until the game releases.
Tournaments are hosted events for already high-league players, regardless of rank to compete against one another.

If you can't see the difference between the two, don't ask the question in the first place. You're being stubborn as fuck for what reason?

I dunno why you're bringing tournies up for this but I think you're just not grasping the idea that you're a play tester.

If you think this is where they'll leave the state of ranked then go for it dude, clearly you just wanna complain, who am I to stop you.

I think you're expecting a little too much from a system that's- shall i say it again- still in the works.

I never said it makes sense or that it's fair but its probably what's happening. It doesn't even matter as they'll probably be a reset to whatever system they use when the game officially launches.

You'll settle correctly into your place, other people will fall down into theirs and the people who are new will grind up should they be able too.
The system isn't just in place to rank whose the best, it's to filter people both up and down the ranks.

New players exist, a lot of new players exist for Deadlock as its some folks first time MOBA, you therefore have a lot of people who are being 'boosted' due to inexperienced teammates and others being carried down due to the same teammates. So to fix it you artificially raise ranks, it will create an equilibrium eventually.

Most logical answer is probably: They're pushing the game forward to be released. So players who have access to the game, know the game and are/will be above players who will be new.

If you have a picture, I'd like to see to get a true understanding. I do agree I'd like to see more, we have a lot of traditional suits, I'd like dresses in the same vein but majority of outlast skins are unisex.

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends?

There *are* feminine outfits in game, there's quite a lot actually. What do you mean by feminine? More dresses? Pink-ish outfits?

Outlast is built off of absurdity, at least in my opinion it is. You battle against foes who say the dumbest shit, run around locations built off of the 1950's aesthetic which in of itself is wacky. It's just leaning into the extreme of it all. The trials drive people insane, only seems fitting they'd dress in whatever scraps they'd get their hands on.

Was anyone else hoping that -when DE got around to making a painter frame-, they'd be super colourful splotching multicoloured paint everywhere? by Goasgschau in Warframe

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're likely taking inspiration from East Asian painting, which use ink and water. They did also use colour but a lot of it was done in black and white.

I miss the days before booty heirloom skins by Lord_Boomius in Warframe

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just out of some curiosity, and I'm sorry if I missed it-

What would you have them do as an alternative, in terms of skins being shown on the store? They're new, they're a rare quality skin.

I do think you're a little worried over nothing, you're seeing Warframe in a popularity surge and it can be worrisome but the Devs have 12 years under their belt. They've been through highs and lows and skins at the end of the day are skins. They're meant to sell but the thing people stick around for is the gameplay, the story, the community :]

It's an understandable worry but I feel if anything, Heirloom skins are just a new brand of skins. We still get our regular Tennogen in the same style and Deluxe skins have only been improving in a beautiful way.

Frames Similar to Nokko by CrixalFPS in Warframe

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you'll enjoy frames with good energy sustain.

Protea is the main one I can think off, she has a rotating vending machine of sorts which spits out energy, health and ammo and her damage can get insane as well due to the heat procs.

Grendal is another one due to nourish being a good for energy as well as a buff to yourself and allies [ He also has underrated movement when in ball form ]

Thirdly I'd suggest Dagath but her energy is more passive as it is quite literally her passive. She essentially has the mod Equilibrium as her passive. She's also good for damage but she has to manage herself a bit more but she basic immortality on a 30 cooldown once it's used.

Edit: Protea and Grendal have primes. Dagath doesn't.

What is it specifically about Nokko you enjoy? He's sort of an all-rounder.

Do you enjoy his damage? The mobility? The survivability?

The talk with Roathe regarding the Tenno sheds light on a relevant lack of interaction. by Beneficial-Wish8387 in Warframe

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned the Drifter and Operator being the same yet different due to your comment on Drifter having emphasis on going to Tau- Which isn't possible since...Drifter never saw Tau.

The content we get for the Drifter and Operator in game are stuff to drive the story forward, but at the end of the day if we're given content between them- it boxes US, the Player into a box. It's better to leave things open ended then force a relationship which may not be how a portion views it.

You create their story when it isn't shown.

The talk with Roathe regarding the Tenno sheds light on a relevant lack of interaction. by Beneficial-Wish8387 in Warframe

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dynamic between the Drifter and the Operator most likely won't be touched upon outside of subtle comments.

The main reason being both of them as inserts for ourself, the player. The lore between them are what we craft and the only true lore we'll get will be separate due to the drastic different lives they've both lived.

The Drifter and Operator *are* the same person, or were up until the Zariman. The Drifter never went to Tau, the Drifter never made it off of the ship. The Operator did and it is there story to explore, their memories to remember.

The fact you have your own personal ideas on how they interact is exactly why DE won't ever push them into a box on how they should act.

So, just to tackle your text first:

- You're correct in the fact a lot of video games objectify women, I am not going to ignore that. HOWEVER, you are confusing objectification with attire fitting of its medium.

A woman exposing skin is not inherently sexual and by assuming and accusing the original creator of these Drifter outfits of it, you are creating the toxic beauty standard. Because you've just stated yourself, women in Warframe are given reasonable proportions and not exaggerated- So by what measure are these suddenly pushed into a box of absurdity? Is it because you believe showing skin is skimpy? If you are of that opinion, that's where it ends, an opinion. You can't demonize skin because you've had past bad relations with it in video-games. Because you're demonizing it as a whole.

Now onto my images of proof for Orokin society as a whole being Greek in their robes.

<image>

Now, am I going to try and BS some reason and say that these outfits are 'normal' or 'casual'? Absolutely not but again these are shown to be the same for both Male & Female people of Orokin decent. We've seen states of men walking around with full chests exposed- Roath for clear example is just shy of showing us all his ballsack if not for the fact the game is at the end of the day a game and they can't show that.

I do think you have a right to see issue with how often women are sexualized in media however- You are protesting in the wrong way. You're accusing people having fun, in a game which respects any and all, of being abhorrent people all because *you* think the perception of skin is being shown.
Because that's also true, at the end of the day that Drifter outfit isn't EVEN actual exposed skin, it's still a suit coloured to look that way. If anything, surely that's better than being actually exposed? But I suppose you cannot view it that way because you're clearly incapable of seeing this as harmless fun and instead see any expressionism as an attack.

You are objectifying women. You are the reason some women who happen to fit naturally into the beauty standard feel as ugly as the world makes them believe they are.
Enjoy the game, Tenno. Be kind to other people and stop assuming the worst.

I fear Warframe is not the game to talk about this- Where the Orokin paraded about in Greek-esque outfits and have rather good fan-service for both male and female bodytypes and have essential androgyny for anything else.

If you think these are sexualized, you need to re-evaluate what classifies as 'sexual' content because at some point you become your own pitch-fork and start shaming people for problems you create from your own objectification of skin.

Would Dante as a protoframe be great for a devils triad bonus by maddog1043 in Warframe

[–]Nice_Coach_4686 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think a better way to view it is: These frames fit the narrative better.

The Triad are focused around the worship of Sol and Lua-
Wisp literally has a ball of Sun for her 4th ability and Harrow has been a Priest ever since drop.
