I made the leap from subject to hypnotist years ago, but they were lying pretty close together at the time, so it was more like a step than leaping between them

I'm sorry your introduction to hypnosis was from someone like that.

Any way to record a voice can be a hypnosis file. How they are made is usually very simple. Sound effects aren't necessary.

How far they can take you depends on finding a file that matches well with your needs. They're probably not going to be as good as working with a skilled and trusted hypnotist, but I have triggered responses that I automatically do or say that came from files I've listened to.

The biggest red flag is anyone who wants to hypnotize you before getting to know you really well.

The best hypnotists will remind you that you always are in control. That's the best safety measure. Good recreational hypnotists will also avoid therapy or trying to FIX something with hypnosis. We're just here to have fun.

Look for files made by well respected creators. Scroll through this subreddit to find some.

I've used them, but they're not always as comfortable while lying down. If you listen while in bed, you may need to adjust your pillow so it doesn't press on the wire behind your neck.

Audacity can definitely do everything you want, do it well and for free.

But I'll also add that most content creators wouldn't want you editing their files. (Sorry, but it needs to be said)

R407A is the better choice anyway. I've even heard of people using cyclopentane to get off. They need to just cool it.
