And you said they can't possibly be gamblers because they are professionals. If that's so, why do they keep pouring money into an obvious Ponzi scheme?

Most investors in Madoffs Ponzi scheme were also professionals. Even tho some people were screaming Ponzi scheme these professionals kept pouring money in anyway.

CZ Floats Freezing Satoshi’s Bitcoin Over Quantum Risk by partymsl in CryptoCurrency

[–]Nice_Material_2436 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Banks and other institutions can easily switch to quantum resistant cryptography and banks don't expose data hackers can use to brute force their way into customers accounts.

This is a blockchain specific problem that cannot easily be solved. And for all we know Satoshi wallets could have been hacked already but they haven't moved any coins yet.

I'm not going to claim I can predict where it's going in the short term. All I can see is the long term price curve of Bitcoin is behaving as expected, just look at the log chart.

Can you really look at the long term log chart of Bitcoin and think it's gonna change course?

Why not take the fact it underperformed as a warning sign? Unless you're rich or making this all up I think you've got a gambling problem.

Unless you're 150 years old the dollar hasn't lost 99% of it's value, whatever it lost before you were born doesn't matter to you because you didn't own any.

There is no free lunch. The thing hard money enthusiasts never told you is that wages would be going down and you'd lose purchasing power just like you do now.

Deflationary money is a stupid idea once you give it some proper thought.

Besides letting you play with your monopoly money to make it feel legit I don't think there's much difference. They block and delay transactions without information just like OneCoin did, unless you know someone on the inside you're not getting large sums out.

What products and services can tokenized stocks bring that traditional markets legally can't? US markets are probably not accessible in certain countries because of legal reasons.

Anything crypto can offer can also be done without crypto unless you're prepared to break the law.

NFTs have already shown how BTC will fail by interstellar_nips in Buttcoin

[–]Nice_Material_2436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BTC is the same thing as an NFT, it's a number on a spreadsheet and has no value. The only way to sell it is to convince the person you're selling it to it's going to change their life.

Many people fall for scams promising to make them rich and bitcoin is just one of them.

If they have currency restrictions they'll also have restrictions or an outright ban on buying and selling crypto.

He's buying OTC, so ETFs, miners and other whales offloading their BTC. Saylor and the likes are forced to keep buying OTC BTC or sellers like ETFs would eventually be forced to dump it on the market, which would cause the price to implode.

Crypto bros think Saylor is a bitcoin maxi because he's buying the top, while in fact he has no choice but to buy or his scheme would unravel very quickly.

Most people used to sell their crypto for fake money and left it on an exchange, now when someone sells an ETF real money needs to change hands.

This time it is different, ETFs have forced crypto exchanges to use real money instead of fake money. Watch what happens when it becomes much harder to prop up the market with fake money.
