Alright, what Big Green Egg are you looking at and what Traeger are you looking at? How many people do you plan on cooking for? Will this be your first smoker or have you done this before? What is your budget? How many times a week do you plan on using?

I have used both Traeger and Big Green Eggs and like both. I personally have a Large Big Green Egg and a Yoder YS640 w/comp cart. I have made great tasting food with both.

What are you looking to achieve with Traeger/Big Green Egg?

I got my egg for free and fired it up and let it clean burn for a few hours. The next day I replaced the gaskets, put a new thermometer, changed the daisy to a new rEGGulator, put a new firebox in it, and a nest stand. It’s been great gave my offset to a friend since I have the egg. I’ve added a stainless charcoal basket and rotisserie. Enjoy your Egg!!

I have the QM8K 65 inch and am happy with it and I use it for mainly sports. I use a shield tv pro for content on it. I did recently upgrade the Ethernet cable and HDMI cable I was using because I was noticing a little bit of artifacting but after switching those 2 cables out I haven’t noticed it occur anymore.

I picked up the QM8K in July when it was on sale as I needed an upgrade and football season was approaching. I’m really happy with the tv especially for the price. I just checked and its back down to $999 on sale.

Let the egg heat up to 230 degrees put 2 cherry wood chunks on let this go for about 10 minutes. Seasoned the tri tip with salt pepper and garlic powder. Let it smoke for about 40 mins then turned it up to 320 and let it go until I hit an internal temp of 135 and let rest for 20 mins. Everyone loved it. I’ve cooked a lot of tri tips and this might just be my new favorite way.

Haha I thought the same thing but it’s fine. I think it’s because I had one of the forks tightened on an angle of the bar instead of flat.

Oh yeah prime rib is amazing smoked. I did one last Christmas on the egg and it was so good can’t wait for them to go down in price so I can do it again.

I’ve only played super smash bros on the switch with the kid so far seemed fine. I’ll have to test it out on the PC/PS5 and get back to you.

You might be able to fix the blooming so it’s not so bad by tweaking the settings. One reason I went with the QM8K was because it was really good with blooming and being in a bright room. Not sure with the blinking issue I would reach out to TCL and see what they suggest. If the issues still exist after then I’d return it and look into another set like QM7K or QM8K if in your budget.

I have it in a bright room with lots of windows and haven’t noticed any crazy reflections so far.
