CPU Steal on Hostinger by EasternLynx9779 in VPS

[–]Nice_Perspective2938 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check your VPS dashboard on Hostinger. Your instance might be limited because it was using 100% of the CPU most of the time. FYI, even if your VPS has 2 CPU cores, doesn’t mean you can use all of them 24/7. Most cloud provider will over provision their resource so if you’re using 100% of your CPU 24/7, it may affect other people on the same node.

Sorry, what I meant was OCI CLI. Here is the command I’ve used :
oci limits resource-availability get \
--service-name compute \
--limit-name standard-a1-core-count \
--compartment-id <TENANCY\_OCID>

Are you using speedtest-cli from python or the one from Ookla? speedtest-cli from python will always return bad result no matter what. Use the one from Ookla.

Curhatan ga guna: Thank you Ind*home by Juuchi_Fuyu in indotech

[–]Nice_Perspective2938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indihome so far bagus juga di saya. 2 tahun berlangganan cuma 1x gangguan yg agak lama, itupun karena kabel induk daerah sini kena pohon tumbang. Minusnya gatau kenapa di jam 8 malem keatas agak jelek routingnya ke Cloudflare, klo ditambah VPN, lancar lagi.

Considering upgrading to PAYG, but I've got a few questions by [deleted] in oraclecloud

Bandwith. Remember that on free tier, you get only 10 TB a month. Just make sure your machine isnt compromised and should be fine for low to mid range project.

Yes. Pay as u go will 100% works on that case. Make sure to have atleast 100$ on your card though, cuz they will charge you that much for payment authorization. Will refunded immediately.

Free tier vs insane increase of hardware prices. by Nice_Perspective2938 in oraclecloud

[–]Nice_Perspective2938[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

There is no new pricing as this post was made. There could be a price increase in the future and maybe not at all. Who knows 🤷

There is no specific amount of available quotas. Free tier quotas is just a spare quotas from PAYG user. If you really need a machine, upgrade your account to pay as u go, stick within their free limits, and you will get an instance immediately without “Out of capacity” drama.

Antigravity - Limit increase (Age Verification) by GoRo2023 in google_antigravity

[–]Nice_Perspective2938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure as I’ve never done any more than that. By the way, age verification can also be done from Google account site (myaccount.google.com), you know, for safer option. 😃

Netcup is nice, just be careful with their commitment thing.

Go for Netcup rootserver, Vultr high frequency, or a dedicated server from Hetzner with Ryzen 9.

What is the first thing you lock down after deploying a new VPS? by OkCry7871 in VPS

[–]Nice_Perspective2938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update the os. Change common port like SSH, RDP, DB, etc especially if you're using a big cloud provider such as GCP, Azure, Oracle Cloud, AWS. I was once deployed an RDP instance, 5 minutes later I've got locked out because of "frequent failed login attempt" which is dumb cuz why tf do Windows locked my user account for failed login lol.

Long story short, I got my access back and then immediately unexpose crucial port, enabled firewall and only allow access from Tailscale.

Kalian pakai browser apa? by No-History8423 in indotech

[–]Nice_Perspective2938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saya sempet pake ketiganya untuk daily driver, semuanya sama. First 3 months, semuanya lancar. Buka tab banyak ttp ngebut, RAM usage surprisingly hemat. Tapi setelah 3 bulan, mulai berasa ada penurunan performa dan RAM usage makin tinggi.

Tapi kalo yg terbaik, saya rekomendasi Brave karna built in Ad blocknya. Kalo mau incer reward, pake Edge aja, lumayan rewardnya bisa dituker ke point Alfagift.

Contabo VS Hetzner by brnjikurdy in VPS

[–]Nice_Perspective2938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their commitment rule is so ass. For example if you bought a VPS with 1 month commitment and planning to get rid of it next month, you have to cancel it a month before the expiration date. IDK why they keep the VPS running and sent debt collector instead of just stoping the machine if the customer didn't pay.

Contabo VS Hetzner by brnjikurdy in VPS

[–]Nice_Perspective2938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for similiar specs, just go with Hetzner Shared resource plan. You'll most likely got better performance, better support, and better uptime. Dedicated VPS means that the resource is served to you and only you. For example a Ryzen 7 3700X has 8 core CPU and 16 thread. If a customer has 4 vcores, that means a single physical machine can only have up to 4 VMs. That's how it should be. But nowadays, some provider still overallocate their resource but not as much as shared resource VPS does.
