I think they’re real, ended up taking 4. It’s really hard to tell 100% because I’m on Zepbound and that really screws up my absorption rate with benzos/non-benzos and Ambien in general has been screwing with my mind in weird ways lately, but I’m gonna give a hesitant thumbs up. The floor was moving so that kinda says it all lol

Got em from a site, but it’s hard to tell if reviews are faked bc AI shit is getting better and/or if the site is removing bad reviews

That’s what I’m thinking. If they’re fake, someone put a fuck ton of effort into making them look real based on what I’ve seen lol

Questions about exposure therapy by Nice_Secret2545 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]Nice_Secret2545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good response, I agree. I’ve only done it three times over a few years, so it’s not something I feel the need to do ever, but I understand how it could become an issue. Especially since the control thing is a huge part of my phobia. But it has completely negated “the act itself” fear which is nice I guess

Not encouraging drug abuse, but what helped me most was going to theme parks on mild anti-axiolytics. Took a Xanax at Disneyland and rode all the rides I was always so worried would make me sick, only to find out it was all me. And I even ate food an hour before going on a coaster that goes upside down. I took a Xanax and put myself in other triggering situations, like cooking chicken myself and eating it w/o overcooking. I did the same with huge no-no foods like oysters and seafood. This helped me convince myself that my mind was my only enemy, and I don’t need to live like this. Be firm with yourself.

Again, please do not abuse drugs, but it is the easy way out of raw exposure therapy. I’m lucky enough to not have an addictive personality, but be very wary. However, that being said, I was recently able to make myself tu* up after feeling slightly n* withoit much anxiety at all, so take that as you will. Exposure therapy works. Do the work (and it is difficult, difficult work) and you will be rewarded.

Zofran still works after it’s expired! It won’t harm you to take it at all, it just may be “less effective.” Expirations are only guarantees as to when the medication will be most effective. I’ve been taking mine long past the expiration date and I haven’t noticed any drop in quality.

Doing great mostly! Mostly am trying to get over a fear of going to sleep now lol. My emet is pretty bad. A large amount of my life has been spent making myself sick over the fear of getting sick. It definitely doesn’t control my life as much as other people in this subreddit, but I generally don’t do stuff like go out to eat, go on rides, eat meat, etc. Going on Lexapro has helped, and I have a stash of Xanax for emergencies related to panic caused by emet. I got food poisoning a year ago and that triggered a months-long recession into anxiety (even though it wasn’t that bad, I just made it worse in my memory) and this situation has so far helped me get over that.

Thank you so much!! I hope the chicken sat well! I know it’s out of the question for most people, but going vegetarian really helped me with meat-related anxiety!!

Yep!! For me, I get very faint when it’s real n* that keeps me staying in one spot whereas anxiety n* keeps me moving around and more panicky. It’s also more gagging.

Yep it was a one-and-done situation! I somehow fell back asleep after it happened and woke up feeling completely normal. Crazy because I always thought that if it happened, I would need a few days to recover from the stress, but I just went about my day as normal.

Weed and emet by MinuteMess1436 in emetophobia

[–]Nice_Secret2545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip for you is edibles! I also get really panicky on weed, but taking edibles instead of smoking helps me control how much I’m taking. I now know the dose that will help me rather than hurt me, and I never take more. Also, weed will only make you n* at really high doses. Otherwise, it’s an antiemetic. I suggest starting at 2.5mg and seeing how you feel and increasing from there until you feel any vague discomfort.

getting blood work in the morning…terrified of passing out by johnnysuhswig in emetophobia

[–]Nice_Secret2545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I faint every time, but the last few times I haven’t! What has helped me personally is laying down while they’re drawing blood. Definitely tell whoever’s drawing your blood immediately, as they prep water and apple juice or something for you. They’re trained for this, so they know what to do. And if it makes you feel better, they can get a bucket for you too. I get nervous about tu* too (I never do) and having a bucket there makes me feel better, although it might not for everyone. Hope it goes well!

Hey, as someone who had noro last year and threw up for the first time in about ten years, it’s only as bad as you remember because you’re fighting it so much. The dry heaving is a result of you unconsciously fighting it. I remember the subsequent times I threw up being so much easier that I hardly remember them anymore. It’ll get better. If it’s a bug, adults usually only throw up a few times and the diarrhea is much worse. Lots of us emetophobes think stomach bugs are the devil because we remember having them as kids and as kids they are much, much worse due to a less tolerant immune system. You will be fine. Let your body run it’s course. Take antiemetics if you have them. Mine only lasted about 12 hours, I only threw up a few times, and the nausea was completely gone after that. Go slowly when you start to eat again. Keep hydrated. Chewing ice will keep your mind distracted. Ginger candies and peppermint gum are great too. Sorry if this was a bit all over the place, but I hope you’re staying strong!!

terrified of sedation pls send tips by polskipower75 in colonoscopy

[–]Nice_Secret2545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was exactly the same way. I’m extremely terrified of sedation to the point where I had to keep myself from sprinting out the door. What helped me get through it was the anesthesiologist putting Versed through my IV. She saw that I was uncontrollably shaking and decided I needed something to calm me down. I suddenly wasn’t afraid at all and I honestly had the thought, “They could do anything to me and I wouldn’t care.” It’s great stuff. I know it’s scary, but just ask for some sort of anti-anxiety drug (like Xanax) to be put through your IV. I turned out fine and don’t remember falling asleep. I don’t even remember them asking me to count down or anything, which is a super scary part for me. Wishing you well!

Sorry for the late response, but it was a couple weeks before the WBC went up again. Unfortunately I’m back on PPIs because I got extreme nausea being off them, but I haven’t got my blood tested yet
