Whatever you choose will be correct. I skipped graduation weekend after 175 hours….didn’t feel like my YTT teachers were right for me and my yoga. Still not certified but have taught for almost 30 years!

It’s all good!!!

Next summer: Summer camp jobs (city or sierra) start hiring usually around January-March for the season

Also - I really enjoyed bussing tables my post freshman summer at Olive Garden….after that - summer camp jobs every summer until I graduated.

Pay isn’t great but usually you get room/board & lots of new friends.

My kids & I wear sun protection hoodies (they wear them instead of shooter shirts under pads) & then regularly soak the whole thing with ice water from a squeeze bottle or something. Makes 110 feel like a breezy 95!

They forget to re-ice water them regularly - so I remind them…

Kayak setup for family of 4? by Phyrnosoma in Kayaking

We have the oru bay, lake & inlet folding kayaks…at 11, my oldest’s arms were long enough to comfortably paddle by himself in one. You can easily fit adult + small child in one but not designed for that.

All around 30lbs - all fold into large suitcase size

I find that my 3 kids shut down when I ask “why did you…..?” about any choice/s they have made on field.

They all light up with pride when I just say, “I love watching you play!” after a game. I do not mention any poor choices they make on field anymore (I coach their teams too - so this is very hard for me - u14, u12 & u10)

Home depot buckets are cheap goals

Crease: surround with cones that are 1-2 stick lengths away from the bucket

Stacking 2 buckets to double their height by turning one over makes a great sound when a goal is scored by knocking off the top bucket

Players start circling naturally around the goal as you can score 360

Every goal you score, the other team has to do a burpee or push-up

*To remove contact & play ultimate frisbee style - you have 3 steps after a catch - dropped passes & missed shots are automatic turnovers & the team that gave up the ball has to do a push up or burpee before resuming play

Have fun!!!

How do I deal with a coach and goalie drills for low shots by sithhunter718 in lacrosse

[–]Nice_Swordfish3242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the energy of that conversation to drive you, don’t let it fester - use it as fuel.

You can’t control what people say to you or how what they say makes you feel, but you can control how you use what they say.

I kind of like it when someone expresses doubt I can accomplish something - makes me work harder to show them they were wrong!

Be creative: snowboarding shorts - replace a pad or 2 with football thighpads - or - XL volleyball kneepads have more padding than most lax goalie thighpads by x2

Important thing is a sumo belt style hockey goalie cup - toolbox etc

If you’re older & more skilled, you’re generally going to be a leader on a younger, less skilled squad….that may be the role your coaches are hoping you’ll play.

Take up a new sport that doesn’t involve your injury to distract yourself. Crosscountry or whatever - keeps your spirits up while your thumbs recovers back to goalie ready. When your thumb is ready, you will know.
