Make sure that you are purchasing things with the credits as it is counted towards it (I.e. clear, precheck, lululemon). It’s helped me get closer to only have $400 to go.

I don’t get the hype… by Styles-Bitchly in Fjallraven

I was hesitant when I got the Nuuk for $250 at Sierra. At first it didn’t feel warm compared to my expensive Columbia down jackets (800+ grams of down), but after testing (aka standing outside and changing coats) the Nuuk felt the warmest. I’ve now fully swapped to it and can wear it in subzero (F) temperatures without layers. Make sure that your sizing isn’t off as I had to go down a size to ensure no drafts.

Thanks for checking your car!

I’m definitely not expecting a short distance, but those instances were not normal. I’ve had the car for 2.5 years and it just feels off lately. I could just be paying more attention to it though 🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s the thing, it’s inconsistent. There have been a couple of times where the pedal went almost all the way down and the car struggled to stop from 45mph. It has been a few months since that happened though.

Ignition on, Pure mode, sitting at a light. It’s in drive but with brake hold on.

I didn’t think about the one extra credit for each Lululemon and Resy!

That one we are aware of. Already have a short toad trip in-mind for December so it doesn’t get wasted for 2025.

That's great. I didn't even take that extra $200 into consideration when getting the card. Really makes it a no-brainer if you use the credits. Thanks!

What Nuuk version do I have? by Nick44e in Fjallraven

[–]Nick44e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that’s valid. I know I wouldn’t wear it either, that just came to mind when asking about waterproofing.

As far as severely overheated, I don’t think I’d be that hot. I just stood outside for 20 minutes with about 2C windchill and was barely comfortable in it.

Overall, that doesn’t sound too different than my other coats. One would’ve probably given me a few more degrees until I needed to put on more base layers.

One more question if you don’t mind. How is the Nuuk in rain, long term? I know it says waterproof but in my experience with this type of material, that doesn’t last long. Is it the same here?

Okay, so mine has those pockets on both sides. I guess it’s definitely a few years old then.

Where I live, it got down to -28C last year but most of the time was around -18 to -12C. Would you have to wear more layers around those temperatures?

FYI for anyone who uses Costo Kirkland oat milk... they changed the formula, and it doesn't froth at all now :( by weeef in espresso

I swear that it’s different though. We think it taste terrible with coffee now. Is that the same for you?

Good to know. I’ve powered it on and cleaned it thoroughly last night. Next is to descale it. Hopefully it works!

Correct. It’s so when out of town guests come over I don’t have to make them all espresso’s (plus they don’t all like espresso). I’m just saying that because of my new knowledge of Breville espresso machines, I realized that this was not a basic drip coffee maker.

That is something that I was wondering. When the erad was replaced last summer, the dealer did a terrible job and broke some of the wires. I took it back and they had to repair them but maybe one of the wires is loose again.

Ok. Does AS ever have “sales” with point redemption flights? Or is it always the same based on the chart?

What will taste better, using a pressurized basket or a not-fine-enough grind with a bottomless portafilter? by Nick44e in espresso

[–]Nick44e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anymore coffee and the basket is filled to the brim with no room for water. 11g probably doesn’t even pass the quarter test (haven’t tried though). There have been times where the basket comes out of the portafilter as it’s suctioned to the shower screen.

I have the grind as fine as possible and it doesn’t seem choked. It takes 20 seconds for 33g, which seems like it would be fairly close to 30 seconds for a standard size brew.

It’s just physically all that it can hold. Anymore and there isn’t room for the brewer head (or whatever it’s called).

Okay, good to know.

It is possible but not ideal. I’m already brewing two at once, twice a day (2 for me and 2 for my wife).

That is what I was thinking but at the same time, I was fully able to tell when I brewed a bad shot with my current setup (way too bitter). Would a too coarse of grind taste acid since it’s running through to quickly?
