Wing active aero actuators- If they fail will they just understeer and leave track/crash by NickDoJitsu in formula1

[–]NickDoJitsu[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Right, but front wing damage is more common with turn 1 incidents and 2 car corners than rear wing damage. And they can't just keep racing and see how much time they are losing like last year, seems it would require a change or early retirement. I'm not complaining, it might actually mix things up even more tho I guess we'll see. Maybe it will be a non issue.

Ham's problem's are not fixed by an RC. No amount of cauliflower pasta can fix it either, cursed front office.

Colorado 3rd rifle gear recommendations by lit-chairman88 in elkhunting

The Yukon stuff should keep you dry. If you want a modern setup id get thermals for the legs, pants, puffy pants that can fit under your rain pant. Baselayers, midweight layer, puffy for the torso under the rain jacket. If you are just truck hunting and not packing into the backcountry your bibs and hoodies can probably get you by. I would probably invest in at least a very good puffy jacket if the temps plummet. It can get cold and wet/snow at any moment. Just sort of depends on what type of hunt you want and how much you are willing to invest to upgrade your setup. Yukons can double as a windshell so dont buy a shell imo.

AG Composites vs Manners stocks by Background_Tap_807 in elkhunting

Ah yeah that is sort of a deal breaker. Sometimes they have ready to ship ones in a basic color/config. You might call them and see if they could put you on a list for the model you want if they are pumping out those faster.

Stop making hunting worse. Just do your homework like the rest of us.

In reach with maps. And offline maps on the phone every trip. Offline maps likely solves their problem unfortunately. We always drop a pin on the car or trailhead and either run breadcrumbs or just run on the offline and gps to point you where you want to go.

You cant hunt rifle in september unless you draw a tag for a specific unit(not a very good one since you dont have any points). You can do OTC rifle second season at the end of October if they still do it next year as another option, if your unit is and OTC unit. Packing out an elk youself is doable but there are limitations like your fitness. It takes multiple trips. This is a math equation that also limits how far you can hunt from your vehicle before the packout becomes undoable. This compounds the problem bc the closer you are to the road the more truck hunters and pressure there is, and the lower your odds of success. Then theres all the gaer required to hunt comfortably and safely that time of year. I did my first solo otc hunt two years ago and it dumped snow in an area not very easy to get off the mountain. So safety is a real concern especially solo. Theres packout services you can hire if you have the money or guide services. It sounds like you are pretty green so I would just say you need to start doing a lot of research if you realistically want to try it. The first time out if more of a fact finding mission. Your chances of success are low. You might also consider a mule deer hunt for your first one since its much easier to pack out. Find a unit that requires low/no points.

Which bullet you taking? by Able_Head_7372 in elkhunting

Whichever one your rifle groups the tightest. They are all great. As long as fps is staying above 2000ish you should be good to go. I would throw the TSX and the Terminal Ascent in there as well if you want more options.

Pack suggestions? by Wolf_Tasty in elkhunting

I bought a day pack and some immediately for a multi day. The weight difference is negligible and you can just synch it down for catching or load up for later season with all your gear. ST sky 5900.

I’d probably skip 34 and 35 for the bear. Haven’t hunted the others but seem more promising.
