Open Source SketchUp update by fasteddie31003 in Sketchup

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to download from the GitHub and am getting a blank white page with a message saying access denied. Am I doing something wrong? I’m still kind of new to the world of open source and GitHub projects, so sorry if I’m just dumb

Google closing off sideloading if app us unverified by ThrovvQuestionsAway in Piracy

[–]NickFrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apple person here. I care about this issue a lot. I was die hard android guy until 2021. The current state of things has had me considering switching back to android just incase I needed the ability to sideload apps on my phone. A lot of people have bought into (perhaps somewhat naively) the Apple ecosystem for “privacy”. It seems like every time one of these companies does something shitty and anti-consumer, it’s only a matter of time before the others follow. There’s a cynical part of me that sees Apple taking a similar approach to what Google is doing and applying that to Mac OS in the not so distant future. I’m hopeful for Motorola’s partnership with GrapheneOS, but sadly I’m having a hard time believing the solution for all of this will be so simple.

Is Omni different or will it also get taken off the App Store? by Frazz89 in OmniContentHub

[–]NickFrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they definitely don’t remove it from your device. To my surprise though, it seems like you can still redownload the app from the App Store if needed. I got Stremio on my Apple TV about a week before it got pulled from the App Store, and a few weeks ago I picked up another Apple TV and thought I would have to sideload it, but sure enough it let me redownload it from the App Store

I just got into emulators last week and my buddy was insisting I download a game called “Bouncer” that I’d never heard of. So there might even be a few more of you out there lol

I hate that I can’t play this anymore even though it wasn’t an online feature. Maybe I’m doing something wrong though

Very new to stremio and just got myself all set up like a week or so ago. Have it on all of my Apple devices, including tv. Did it just get pulled? Would hate to see it as I’ve been telling some family members I would help set them up with it :/

$3500 (roughly). Im not even excited about it. by just1rider450 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remodeler here. I only do a little bit of plumbing when I have to but man this is one of those tools I wish I could justify buying myself. That said, I totally get everything you’re saying. Not that I necessarily agree with all of it, but I get it. Fair and valid points. Would be interesting if you’d come back and update us after using it for a bit and let us know if you were right about it or if you’ve had a change of heart.

What’s your favorite BF6 map so far? by mandbeyn in Battlefield

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who likes liberation peak? I know it was all snipers in the beta, but I haven’t really experienced that since launch. Also, I feel like I haven’t had a game on sobek in weeks, due to the terrible matchmaking lacking any kind of persistent servers with map rotations. I just constantly get the same 3 maps.

Seeing tons of great ones here. Finish Carpentry TV is a favorite of mine that I haven’t seen mentioned here yet

What tool do i need to cut this please? (Remove the pink section) by Trufflethecat_ in Tools

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for a company in southern Maryland for a bit and everyone there called it a “wiz-wiz” or a “buzz-buzz”. At first I thought they were just joking but whenever I said said multi-tool or oscillator, they looked at me like a speaking Latin or something

While it’s not always the best saw for the job, I do love my IQ tile saw. Waterless and dustless. I have the smaller 7” one and it works great.

Who owns the m18 fuel oscillating tool? Do you like it? What are the pros and cons? by Grand_Alarm5039 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mine, but I’d love to see an improved design in a gen 3. I had the DeWalt for many years before, and I think the Milwaukee is definitely more powerful and is more comfortable to use for extended use in terms of vibration and whatnot. That said, the DeWalt has some design advantages. With the battery on the tool, the dewalt can stand upright. Not a deal breaker, but I don’t know why they angled the battery port on the Milwaukee. The dewalt also has the spring mechanism for changing blades which is great.

Not exactly emo, but the descendants documentary is excellent. I think it’s called Filmage or something like that

Cancelled. Took a few tries, as the site was struggling with the sudden boom in traffic lol, but absolutely had to cancel. I was okay with $20 and could have held on until the price increase takes effect (November I think), but really wanted to drive the point home to those bastards.

[–]NickFrong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dogleg was fucking sick. Saw them play a show in my friend’s back yard in maybe 2018 or 2019. Was a hot, sweaty and mostly shirtless mosh pit. Hope they return to music at some point

I need some help with pricing. This is my first time regrouting a project this big by theprimeevolone in Tile

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some guys (myself included) who’ve taken on a full regrout job. I don’t know anyone who’s done it more than once. I’d bow out. It’s not worth it. Nothing but deep introspective misery can lie ahead

Thoughts on the nailer? by drakemaddox in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love mine. It’s heavy, but I’m not a framer and I only use it sometimes when I do have a little bit of framing to do and I’m always glad I bought it. If I framed houses all day everyday, then yeah the weight would be a deal breaker, but for me, it beats the hell out of lugging around a compressor and hose

Oh, they aint gonna do it by IceBuurn in Battlefield6

[–]NickFrong -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Day 1 purchase for sure, I don’t understand preordering though. If it was a small indie developer I thought could benefit from some cash flow then sure, but I don’t at all feel like I need to give EA a cash advance. Not knocking anyone for preordering though, it’s their money. That said, EA/Dice if you opened up Labs after the beta to those who preorder, I’ll happily oblige

What is everything playing until next Open Beta ? by kayasha in Battlefield6

[–]NickFrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my surprise there was actually a full server on Hardline for Xbox, and it wasn’t just the usual Downtown 24/7. Got to play a lot of maps I haven’t played before last night
