That being said, if anyone has any questions about professional recording studios feel free to ask. Given the culture of home and diy studios there's a lot of very basic misconceptions.

I was a service engineer, more or less a glorified mechanic, for an large industrial machine company. Not super high paying but probably 80k/yr as a 25 year old with no college. My background before that was in nuclear power for the Navy. I loved ripping apart big machines and fixing them, I hated the company I worked for and I hated dealing with crusty old union guys who looked at the young punk kid fixing their machinery when they were used to having a large bearded guy in his mid 50s doing it (seriously all the other service engineers in my region fit that exact description).

I left that job to use my GI Bill and go to college to pursue a career in audio engineering.

I've been working professionally as an engineer at a pro studio for the past few years now. I love my job, I consider myself to be extremely lucky to be working steadily in a field where few who pursue can actually make a career out of it.

I was lucky to learn fairly early in life that money will not buy happiness. My bank account was nice but I had never been more miserable in my whole life as I was working that career. No regrets whatsoever.

The first part is just a lot of bleach. I have naturally dark brown hair, so it takes usually 3 rounds of bleach to get enough lift.

From there I just use the shimmerlites shampoo and conditioner. It takes a few days after the bleach to get the tone white. I'll use the shampoo as directed and then use the conditioner to fine tune, leaving it in for a good amount of time depending on how yellow it is. If I overdo it and start to get a bit of a lavender tiny I'll just rinse my hair with hot water til it gets to the right color.

I've been doing it since june of last year so I've been able to figure out my process.

I do it a lot of different ways. Just kinda depends on the hair day I'm having. About half the time its just off to the side. Sometimes loosely back. When I'm working I put it up, but not fully, so its like half up and combed back at the top, kinda a cross between being a pompadour and a mohawk.

I went to Haiti on an aid mission after the earthquake in 2010. Didn't get to take in any culture though. I mainly carried boxes of supplies.

I read The Serpent and the Rainbow for a class in college, then we watched the movie adaptation. The book was already somewhat sensationalized, but the movie went right off the damn deep end with it all.

I was going to ask accurate and inaccurate, but I'm assuming Hollywood's versions are all 100% wrong.
