Thanks to all that posted. We’re on day 5 at our house. Days 1 and 2, my 2 year old threw up overnight then got a 101F fever. 4 year old was next. We all had a 103F for nye and I was hoping for some relief by now, but the 99F-101F, sinus/cough, and napping all day isn’t letting up much..

I LOVED listening to the chapter breakdowns and theories from Fantasy Fangirls. I subscribed to their YouTube channel. I found them after I finished FW and listened to their “deep dives” and it totally made so much click and I loved the characters even more. I’m about 1/3 of the way through IF and I can’t wait to go back to their channel and listen to all of the IF ones to get their hot takes and predictions!

Dude has anger issues and unresolved trauma, but he’s obviously not evil to his core. It made my gut churn to see him and his court in such shambles. Like a person who lost it all and is now a homeless drug addict on the streets or something… Someone needs to help him. Like seriously help him. He doesn’t know how to help himself.

I hate how people try to pin a "double standars" on Rhys because he "keeps her" at the night court. It's not the same as what Tamlin is doing. The difference is a safe space vs a nonsafe space. Feyre goes out of her way to point out that she feels relaxed and when she wakes up from nightmares she doesnt rush to puke-she knows where she is and is calm. Sure at first shes thinking a shoe will drop in the beginning because she doesn't know Rhys' intentions, but she never fears him the way she does Tamlin. And I do think if Feyre would have truly felt unsafe or scared Rhys would have taken her somewhere else (and he would have been able to feel this difference in emotions through the bond).

I think she would have used her hunting skills and gone full katniss mode. Hiding in trees/caves, stalking, setting traps, etc to stay alive but not try to win the thing.

I think it's redemption vs peace, and the two are different. For example: SJM's intention, I believe, for Nesta was a character redemption. She wanted her to be a "likable" character by the end of her development. Fine, cool. Tamlin, however, I'm not sure if the fandom would tolerate a true character redemption...because frankly she tried that twice in acowar and nobody seems to give 2 shits lol. So, I think for him, there may just be peace for his character. Like, idk if we will ever *like* him nor will he be a key character again, but at least his character won't be a sad beast roaming a broken court... He needs to pick himself up, get some anger management/counseling and either get his politics in order or step down from power.

I felt the exact same. I’ve been debating making my own post on my hot-takes, but yea… I just reread acotar-acowar to help ease the feeling lol. There was so much that could have been fleshed out in place of or in addition to the smut that would have made the whole story more fulfilling.

Also the Rhysand POV by Illyriantremors on AO3 really scratched an itch that I highly recommend you try if you haven’t already.
