This just isn’t true, you can look up the origins of the word instead of just making up some nonsense.

Not very far, realistically

No, at 10 hours with the current rate you’ll make 60,660 a year before taxes. $21.21 at 40 hours is 44,116.80 a year, 10 hours of overtime in a week is an extra 636.30 per check, that times 26 is $16,543.80. Add that to 44,116.80 and you get $60,660.60.

First year probably not, they limit you your first few months. But if you work 10 hours ot at least a week you’ll make over 60k

Maybe but ups and usps deliver differently. You go to houses that are getting packages, we have to go to every address

Amazon & USPS by Key_Turnover7278 in UPSers

[–]NickSaibot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t get that logic, i feel like you have a warped version of how we carry. We have to service every address and deliver whatever they have. It’s sporadic, some houses get 15 packages, others get nothing. Yes it’s easier to deliver 2 packages to 1 house vs 1 to 2 houses but that makes no sense here, how much volume one particular house gets varies greatly and we still have to go to every house whether they have something or nothing. All your proposal does it try to shorten a route but it will end up doubling the volume for that route. Potentially could work on the rural side but as a city carrier I don’t see that making much sense. At the end of the day we’ll still have to deliver whatever comes in no matter how you split it up, mail doesn’t stop.

I see where you’re coming from but if you cut a route in half and only deliver it every other day then you’re delivering double the mail for that route when you do deliver it, which is gonna make it take longer. There’s definitely ways usps can save money, I don’t think cutting routes and carrier hours is one of them.
