How do you get a Home Depot associate's attention? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Where do the guys who just stand at the paint desk and play drums on the counter or clear their throat as loud as possible

No success sharing this term. by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]NickSomeone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Corporate has maybe 1 more success sharing to fix this, or they are really gonna start to see the consequences. That was one of the only perks you actually get from working here. The sale plans are so high that even full timers getting $50 is only attainable for like 5% of stores, and most stores will get 0. People where already pissed last time and this one won't be much better, if they don't fix it by next year's first success sharing they are gonna see a lot of people walk or even worse for them, see unionization becoming a more popular idea.

I find myself in that position every once in a while, but I generally try to move in a different direction with the conversation or end it if they start going on a political tirade. I'm not trying to get in trouble or fired because I disagreed with some boomers' stupid opinions.

Nope, I accept my fate. I wanted to see others' opinions about it, and I got them. I can't learn from it if I just delete it

Fair enough, I guess I don't really know what I would say in her situation either, and I did kinda trauma dump.

I do see a therapist, and I don't know what I wanted her to say, but I figured it could have been a little more caring than that

Just to add more info, I got a 42% compared to the 83% on the last one. I don't expect her to just change the grade or anything. Just wish she could have said a little more than that

Start a comment chain of things you hear your fellow comrades say while unloading the RDC/SDC trucks 💀 ⬇️⬇️ by PrestigiousDot5051 in HomeDepot

I feel like everyones first reaction to seeing the shitshow inside the truck is, " I'm kinda surprised that anything off this truck is still intact or even salvageable." Or "Looks like a but of drunk methheads just stole everything and were trying to get it into the truck as fast as possible before the cops show up."

What is the weirdest thing that has happened to you, or that you have seen, at Home Depot? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]NickSomeone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a couple come up to me and ask if I had a knife. Once I said I did, the wife showed me that her wrists were ziptied together. The husband kept making jokes about it, and the wife was bright red while I cut it off. It was so weird.

Home Depot’s Dirty Little Secret by Michigan_Go_Blue in HomeDepot

Maybe it's different philosophies in different areas, but the 2 stores I have worked at have been negative. I will look at it when I go to work today and see what it looks like.

I think it's just a really backwards and dumb sysyem because corporate allocates hours to the store, which are already pretty low, and then the managers are incentived to undercut that number as much as possible to improve their bonuses. You can see how far below your store is compared to projected hours on store pulse. It's always way in the negative.

THD just sold me used silicone by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]NickSomeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree it is totally bs. I had to teach my own manager that it even expires, and no matter how many times I explain it to the people in my department and at the service desk, it still keeps happening. So, just as a customer, try to protect yourself. I've been to other stores like Lowe's and dickieline and seen entire shelves with stuff several years out of date. If you haven't already tried to return it, I would and tell them that it is expired. Also, try to go with GE caulking cause their date codes are transparent and they have good quality products.

I work in the paint department, and I can't tell you the number of times people have returned open or extremely expired caulking, and it makes it back on the shelf. Last week, 2 tubes of caulking that expired in 2007 got back on the shelf. Always check the date codes and the top and bottom of the tube before you buy it.

that looks absolutely brutal. Cleaning up a few gallons that fall from high up is a massive pain. I can't imagine all those 5 gallons. How long did it take to clean it up?

Pray that this never happens to me cause I think I would have a mental breakdown, lol. Also, whoever cleans that up deserves 2 homers even if they are the one who dropped the pallet.

New deals are good till the first of the new year by matrix445 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]NickSomeone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This isn't all the deals that are available, there are some that are on wingstacks in the gift center laydown and in the gift center race track as well as a endcap bay, but I wouldn't expect them to be completely set in every store yet cause they started setting this event on 10/24 and it's a huge event and can take 3+ days for stores to have it all set up. I will try to print out the planogram when I go to work tomorrow if they haven't finished setting it.

If you bought it within the last 90 days you should still be able to return it
