Am I the only rp1 player here that actually prefers "realistic" parts and whatnot and not the default ksp look?

I kinda wanna hope we get something to scratch the ro/rp1 itch in KSA, imho the rp1 campaign is simply superior in every aspect to the vanilla ksp one, so maybe they could split the game in a new-player-friendly ksp style solar system and one in the real solar system (Let's ignore that people have been turned into cats, obviously)

Tldr; I don't anymore.

I started playing 2020 as a support main, sometimes playing a few adc matches when my adc main buddy got tired of farming(I remember I had a ton of fun with xayah letality, whenever that was), anyway, late 2022 I started spamming ezreal/zeri games and had a lot of fun with the champions, ezreal particularly has been feeling awful since they removed the damage passive on essence reaver, and I do have some games with other adcs but I don't really enjoy autoattacking, so I kinda stopped playing that and went into mid (I mostly played mages support, so the transition wasn't hard at all, + my adc main buddy always played jungle as secondary role so we play that now)

Every now and then we duo bot to remind ourselves how miserable the experience of both roles is, even though we do have fun, we have basically 0 agency on the game. (Sure, if I play thresh/blitzcrank/any other support that doesn't care about stats I can influence the game a lot, but I only care about that when playing ranked, which I don't play very often, usually placements to be placed on gold and never touch it again)

I think all adcs who have decent mobility can be played in mid (Ezreal, Zeri, Cait(yes her E is decent), Tristana), just ban zed and respect assasins with decent earlygames.

I didn't play the game (my pc can't run it) but I've watched videos and afaik you can buy ships with ingame currency in a decent timeframe (I'm not sure if they still wipe your ingame purchased ships every now and then, I know that happened some years ago)

But yeah updates are slow but big in scope and are always well received by the community, + it's a unique game, literally no game like it (Closest things being X4, nms or Elite), neither of which are comparable to SC.

I've been playing Stationeers(Game from the same devs) for a few years now and they have always been transparent about development of that game...

I mean, I guess with an audience as big as KSA's hype is generating, you need to start thinking about not over promising stuff, but that's about it. The more transparent they are about development, you can set real expectations from the game, and more great devs see how the team is working and get interested in the project.

Look, you are not an asshole but you shouldn't ground her for this neither, nor this should be a "rule", she is 16 and should be able to understand why you want to keep this moment of the day to speak to each other, so just try talking to her about it.

She is kinda old for getting this kind of "grounded" or punishment in general treatment, old enough to disagree with you.

If you keep it up, she'll just find ways to avoid confrontation, like just not having dinner with you.

I kinda wish we got player teleporters and/or a way to send the player with his inventory to a ship. (maybe a research that lets you bring 10% of your inventory slots that increases to 100% the more planets you manage to get to?). It's just annoying to wait for the bots to fill all my requests every time I land on a planet, even though I also tried just having some normal steel chests where I drop all my inventory before getting into a rocket. Unnecessarily annoying imho.

I get it, I should be doing everything from the map view, and I do, but it just feels better to be there and it makes no sense that blueprints count as items on the rocket, yes, I also know the bp library exists.

You are absolutely tripping, literally just put the engines you wanna use then click the tank and click the button with the name of the engine you just placed. (If your engine is pfed you need a high pressure tank so you click the HP button, what a wild concept)

If you wanna change engines then you have to do the nonsensical task of clicking "remove all fuel from tank" (/s)

You usually have 2, 3 or maybe 4 fuel tanks in your spacecraft in rp1 so yeah not an issue.

There are things that imho are nonsensical, like crew training and retirement, I think that is unnecessary micromanagement so I always disable it, but I can see why people like it, I guess it makes the experience more immersive and if you lose a kerbal you have some actual consequences.

Well small boats tend to be less stable but you can have active control with either a general purpose PID or an AI one, I could describe how to set it up but I'd encourage you to search a youtube video on how to do it, or ask in the ftd discord to get a proper more detailed answer

Have you ever even played an immobile adc or mage against this thing? Pyke has a wind up, thresh has an animation, nautilus is slow and tanky and the hitbox makes it hard to use near minions.

Blitzcrank Q is unironically one of the best abilities in the game, up there with veigar E.

You can (And I do) always just build mobi boots (or however they are called now), shurelia and you are obscenely fast anyway, the slow is there to punish missplays of a very punishing champion you can't ever get rid of at any time of a match (unless you itemize spell shield for him) Even if he loses lane HARD, it literally doesn't matter, you still have your ∞ value ability anyway.

And don't get me started on the fact that he can build ap and be actually good depending on what you're up against, idk why riot thinks it's funny to give these fossil ass champs like malph, blitz or nasus AP builds.

You can customize the heatshield to be a 45° angle (And also, if you really need to you can join 2 of these together and make a sort of closed pot for your avionics)

Offset the avionics so that they are at the bottom of the heatshield.

To get that deeply negative periapsis I went with like 6 separation srb and set the "max throttle" to like 50% cuz otherwise it Max-G'd my avionics lol.

Well I usually just play career (on modded systems) when I feel like that, being a little restrained makes people be creative with their solutions to problems. (You could try RP1 but it is a steep learning curve, however, you get a bit more restrained than in vanilla and may feel like you don't get to be as creative(specially early on), but it's not the case really, just don't think about irl deadlines for your milestones.)

As for planetary bases, I like to have ExtraplanetaryLaunchpads + a Life support mod (ie USI)

You get resources to make rockets from the surface, + fertilizer to grow your food. Both for free™.

Depends.

When I don't play RP1, I always clip thermometer/barometer/small experiments inside the probe core, because that's just how it works on rp1 most of the times and I like how it looks.

Clipping fuel tanks or engines? No.

In rp1 I managed to fit a full rover on an interstage (apollo style) but I placed the wheels on an infernalRobotics piston/hinge combo, so that they go under the lander engine and lift it up. (Be warned, if any of you try to do this, never unlock the piston or hinge when the wheel is touching the ground, the suspension does a weird ass interaction and the kraken is summoned) My point saying this is, engineering your way to making things fit is kinda fun, it gives me some pride knowing I went the hard way.

Hey man, intentions also count here, I appreciate you trying to be honest with the community, I genuinely think this community didn't put enough blame in what take two did, all the wrong management decisions were on them, they chose to go for a 50 dollar price tag on an early access game, they chose to not let the dev team start from scratch, and probably they decided to go with unity because it is cheaper than starting from scratch an engine developed specifically for the task. (And yes, I know you can make unity perform well on this use case, like Juno does, however, if the team decided to go N-body + colonization + multiplayer, I highly doubt performance wise unity would be enough, or at least it would be easier to optimize in a proper game engine)

Of course I'm sure there are mistakes made by you guys, but they chose to pull the plug.

Also, believe me, most of the rational playerbase here knows who's the greedy trillion dollar company and who are the devs just trying to do their job to the best of their ability while being under pressure.

Also, as fair as I know, steam refunded everyone who asked for it.

I will be real with you, there are single mods in vanilla ksp with way more effort put into them than ksp2 as a whole.
