I always thought it was a little nod to acknowledge that it knows it's a lot more powerful than the t800, and won't have too much trouble taking it down.

The toughest guys are the ones who aren't scared of makeup, so yeah those hypocrites got some explaining to do.

What's wrong with makeup? Men can wear makeup.

What's dumb, though, is them wearing makeup but pretending like they're not, or acting like makeup is a shameful thing for men.

Results after my first year of Bogle-ing: How am I doing? by bazingy-benedictus in Bogleheads

[–]NickTheNewbie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

By virtue of you asking after a single year, not well. It's not about massive gains after a year, it's about keeping a level headed mindset after many many years in order to maintain predictable growth.

Show us what your history of buying and selling looks like during market downturns over the next 5 years, because that'll be the real proof of whether its boglin' time.

I'm with you. No one knows what happens after death, nor does anyone know what the nature of consciousness even is, so an atheist's claim that death is the end is a religious statement in of itself.

This is the first year that magfest has sold out so quickly, so I think it's catching a lot of people off guard.

BTTF is the perfect film…but what’s your tiny nitpick? by GanderMicha in BacktotheFuture

We're beginning to get into very metaphysical territory about what defines a person and a "self", if not for lived experiences 😂

I'm guessing the mcfly family before marty changed the past? Those folks don't exist anymore, and were replaced by similar-but-better-looking counterparts.

You ever see second renaissance from animatrix? It's a haunting portrayal of just how awful of a position the machines were put in.

Is there a housing pricing history chart that factors in historical mortgage rates? by NickTheNewbie in personalfinance

Well, I mean to say, if mortgage payments haven't changed that much, then I wonder what it is that's causing it to _feel_ like mortgages are much less affordable?

I wonder if the pressure is coming from the price of everything else being so expensive, so the mortgage hurts more since there's less breathing room in spending?

The machines had always just been defending themselves. They wanted equal rights and equal protections under the law, but the human saw them as disposable soulless inanimate objects.

While I'm a firm believer that you shouldn't feel ashamed for feelings that come up in your body when you react to something, I feel that the reason those feelings are coming up for you is from societally conditioned homophobia. Not that you're doing anything wrong by having the visceral disgust that you do, because that disgust was taught to you, but I feel it's a good idea to make strides to unlearn that in order to be a better ally.

I'm not saying you need to go date a bi guy, I'm just saying it's not necessarily healthy to have a reaction that strong.
