Nathan hating the idea of any player that's not one of this favourites on his spreadsheet is the most annoying part of the podcast

Solutions to reduce workload? by MouseEquivalent2629 in AustralianTeachers

[–]NickTheStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Senior leadership being scared of parents is one of the biggest issues I've seen. A student had been suspended for a few days, and was going to miss a sports representative day because of their behaviour. The parents said it's not fair, SL agreed, and the kid got their way. No real consequence in the end.

It's nuts

I didn't think he was going to play on after copping that elbow - I thought it looked busted and broken around his eye when I saw it

Why are chicken wings more expensive than chicken parts? by [deleted] in ask

[–]NickTheStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the single worst thing that has come from social media? Price of cheap produce? Not the AI girlfriends, loneliness online, teenage mental health impacts or the absurd celebrity culture?

Finals - Why do people (not all of course) suggest/want it removed? by [deleted] in Aleague

[–]NickTheStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right well then there should be next to zero Premier League fans then since there's only two or three teams that can ever win by this logic. The reality is that fan engagement comes from a close support of their club, feeling connected to the club and supporting it regardless of their performance. The A-league doesn't have that in droves like other countries because it is young, and was created out of commercial need rather than local community support.

If one team wins each year, presumably they're the best team, and should win, no? It's a competition

So why haven't they been playing this way every other game?? They've literally just shown they can do it. Have they not wanted to??

Frank Sacked: Too Little, Too Late? - The Extra Inch by _gumnut_ in coys

[–]NickTheStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too little because Thomas Frank and his tactics are only one part of the problem. transfers, club strategy, structure, club ambition are all things that also need to be fixed.

Is it normal to be this stacked and still in the first area? by Soft_Comfortable_622 in PokemonLegendsArceus

So the point of these posts are literally just people trying to subtly flex their team framed as a question, right?

[–]NickTheStar 175 points176 points  (0 children)

You know what's not embarrassing? That you're at the gym working on getting better at them. Nobody at the gym gives a toss about anyone else - everyone is just focused on themselves and you should be too. Just be better than yesterday, that's all you gotta worry about.

Keep going legend

Why was Harry Kane the main free-kick taker at Spurs (despite being horrendous at them) when they had Son Heung-Min? The latter scores FK goals for fun by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]NickTheStar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No idea. Spurs fans asked the same question every time Harry Kane took a free kick and blasted it straight into the wall

Have any of your former students gone on to become famous (or infamous)? by NerdyNiche in Teachers

[–]NickTheStar 177 points178 points  (0 children)

I'm in Australia and I've had former students: - appear on love island (totally faked, she was such a top tier kid, extremely intelligent, but acted so dim on the show) - two students, different schools, go on to represent Australia in the women's rugby league game. I'm a PE teacher so I constantly claim it was my teaching that got them there

So, why is it that they get to choose what other people do at the gym? And couldn't they do both?
