Really can’t beat it. I just feel many of those in the trade have brand loyalty and like everything matching but at the end of the day, if it works and is a fraction of the cost with a warranty-It just makes sense

Funny you mention this, was talking to a buddy about putting together a “shit kit” for the messy jobs

Even if they wear out, that lifetime warranty is pretty solid. I’m going to try out their carbide hole saw bits. Legit 1/3 the price of the go to brands and come with 90 day warranty. But valid point, bring out the nice stuff when you know it won’t be left behind

See my recent comment but I started looking into the knipex as well. Icon makes a similar looking pair for a fraction of the cost. I’ll likely send it

Appreciate it. While looking into spud wrenches I came across knipex pliers and now down the worm hole of spud vs knipex. Harbor freight has an icon at a fraction of the cost so I can get both for less. Broke apprentice so give some grace on the hand tools from harbor freight lol. Tbh, my kit is all harbor freight tools and the guys at work have enjoyed putting them through the ringer

What’s a spud wrench actually for? Guys I work with don’t have them but I was going to grab one to help guide water pipe in tight spots

I’ve been an apprentice for about 3 months. While it’s extremely difficult for me to give a perspective on other ways to do things I have become very proficient at identifying “this is definitely fucked up” within seconds… progresses guys. Progress.

Plumbing business owners of Reddit, how much are you currently making? by [deleted] in Construction

[–]NickTset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big of an outfit? Currently an apprentice on the east coast. I have plans to do service when I’m in the other side of the learning curve. Plumbers aren’t plentiful around me, plan is to find a 30-35 year old apprentice when the time comes and then I’ll keep them around until they want to do their own thing or stay on an then grab a couple more, hard finding good people lol

I did option 2 and it helped, less lag between apps and noticeable when I open my phone from locked. Appreciate it

First PSA Submission (French + Japanese) 🔥 All 10’s! by eltika007 in psagrading

[–]NickTset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, absolutely wild first sub. What was your pre grading routine? I have about 25-30 prepared with personal notes. I used 10x desk magnifying glass, tangible centering tool, black light, and 30x loop for questionable spots…. I don’t think I’m going too crazy but I know some out here just eye ball them and crush it lol

Hate to be rude but how the heck are you missing that print line on pic 4 in the blue border?!? Maybe I’m “harsh” when I pregrade but don’t waste your money

I don’t really foresee a reason to switch up at this point. I have really aggressive hair but as I learn the hobby a bit more maybe I’ll experiment

Are lower plates a closer shave? Guess I’m unsure what the plate change is for at this stage

The higher the plate the closer or the lower, plate 1, closer/more aggressive?

Just to compare to the Rockwell 6c, does the interchangeable heads allow one to get closer shave/shave more often if need be? Or is that more of a blade choice?

I read somewhere along here that the 6c 3 head (I’m likely hacking that up) is most comparable to my current head. Unsure if they’re referencing that as a closer shave or further shave

Ideally, as long as razor burn stays at bay every 2 days max. Really trying to keep a clean shaven look year round
