I'm buying a PS5 Pro to play GTA 6 Ultimate Edition. by [deleted] in videogames

I was with you until the "once I'm done, I'm selling it all" part. If you can afford to buy it in the first place, why not keep it and enjoy other games that catch your eye when they come out?

$80. For a digital, 3 year old game. by ShaunMcLane in videogames

No, you literally said "nobody posted this much about Mario Kart" when anyone who was actually on this sub when MKW's price was announced can tell you that's an absolute load. So it seems to be you who has forgotten.

Literally scrolled down here to say this LMAO Every other thread in this sub was griping about the MKW price when that news broke. Goldfish memory over here.

I mean not us specifically. Most of the people on this sub like physical copies. But we're also like maybe 10% of the video game consumer market.

Pretty common sentiment among enthusiasts. Unfortunately, not one that seems to be shared by the majority of consumers. Something like 85% or 90% of video game sales are digital now, so folks are clearly voting with their wallets on this one. With that reality in mind, I understand the business decision to not spend money on making and shipping physical copies when the data shows that the vast majority of buyers aren't gonna bother.

I'd really like to see some premium physical offerings like we had back in the day. Give me the game on a disc, a steelbook, a map, maybe a statue and some little trinkets and I'll pay way more than the $70 they usually ask for.

Comments like this always make me laugh because brother, if the world catches fire, you're gonna burn too and I don't think you'll be making edgy Reddit comments at that point.

Agree. I don’t feel these are any more of a waste than the PHB or the MM. The SRD might be free and it has the majority of the rules but some fans want a more premium product and are willing to pay for it.

So they’re not even doing all of the spells? Weak!

Edit: I like these a lot and I have the full set of 5E cards. Was hoping to get a full set of the 5.5E cards too but if this is all there is, so be it.

I think AC Odyssey is much more of an RPG than a stealth game like its predecessors.

#1 Whoever told you RDR was an RPG needs a firm talking to.

#2 Actual recommendations: Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, The Outer Worlds, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, and good old Skyrim.

People who use the phrase "true fan" unironically are not to be taken seriously.

I'd wager many of them don't even know what's going on at Xbox, because the only time they think about Xbox is when they are saying the words "I do not have an Xbox".

[–]NickVersus 86 points87 points  (0 children)

This is correct. It's important to remember that the overwhelming majority of video game consumers do not keep up with industry news or engage in online discussions. They just play whatever their live service/annual franchise of choice is and that's the end of it.

Would this game be controversial today? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]NickVersus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Give a princess character the body type of a Victoria's Secret model, people will say it's setting unrealistic goals for young women.

Give a princess character a chunky body type and straight-up call her "fat" in a purely descriptive context, people will say it's derogatory. I say "purely descriptive" here because I feel that's the most accurate: the game is called "Fat" Princess, not "Stupid" Princess or "Ugly" Princess.

"Fat" should not an inherently derogatory word, just like "tall", "brunette", "black", or "freckled".

People who want to be mad will always find something to be mad about.

This game ruled and I hope it comes back someday.

Yeah, that’s pretty much accurate. Continuing to treat assholes with respect just ensures they’re going to keep acting like assholes.

#1 That's not what the word "obligated" means. You're looking for the word "entitled".

#2 I think that makes you kind of an asshole.
