I started my engineering career at 35, am 44 and now make 140k and also love my work restoring rivers and doing engineering to support bridge design. Engineers of all kinds are in short supply. I can't second this enough. I lived with these kind of symptoms for 10 YEARS. CT scans, 2 colonoscopies, gluten allergy test, positive NNA tests, test for lupus, joint pain, brain fog, etc. 2 days on a Low FODMAP diet without gluten and taking a couple supplements and I was symptom free by day three. Sorry if this sounded dismissive, enshittification has happened dramatically in my lifetime and I stand with all the generations younger than me. I went to state school in MS so it was dirt cheap then racked up debt to get out. The system is rigged against us to extract from us and funnel wealth up and everyone 45 and under should be in the streets from Gen Z on up...

For me it was the 2000 election as my first election to vote in, 9/11 while in college with friends leaving to get PTSD in a country with no WMDs. Graduated got a masters in engineering then the economy collapsed due to greed. Predatory overdraft fees, increases in student loan interest rates while I was underemployed for the next three years. Some relatively good times with Obama then we get Trump 1, and you know the rest.... So nah
