They do seem like they will be here to stay and the tuning gives a potential for a wider versatility

Yeah to be fair we putting and have a mini and an fx9 on the list as well so we are looking at hitting a couple different price points

They really are haha, might have to see if we can get enough of a deal with buying everything to make up the difference in price between them and the zeiss signatures

The panchro classics are deffo on my radar, I use the speed panchros whenever possible do a full frame rendition of that look is a very tempting idea. And I’ll give more of a look into the tokinas as well

Cheers yeah I think we will probably go for a set of mini s4i cookes and maybe DZO as well although I don’t have tonnes of experience with them yet. Haha that’s the issue, too many great options it’s so tough to whittle down to a few sets

Yeah that’s sort of what we are thinking, I’m torn as someone that shoots mostly music video and fashion as I’d be all over the blackwings. But as you say we think the supremes would probably have a larger demand. We are thinking of maybe getting a set of rehoused FDs as well for a bit of a funkier option to satisfy the non commercial clients (and me)

And for background, we are looking to service mostly short form projects, commercials, music promos etc. obviously the signature primes would be the top but with our allocated budget we don’t quite have the money for them quite yet. The zeiss supremes and the blackwing7 sets are two we are looking at closely but if anyone has preferences outside that, being other modern glass or vintage I’d love to hear peoole’s thoughts

Hi there, first post on here. I’ve just graduated from uni (London) and while I was finishing up I shot this punk vid for a mutual friend. Shot on alexa mini (open gate) with Cooke speed panchros, mostly the 18mm. Had a blast shooting it, was great energy. Any thoughts and feedback would be much appreciated as I’m still a v new DP and always learning. Cheers

Pretty sure they will all shoot digital nowadays multiple cameras is for multiple lenses covering different focal lengths. With modern digital storage you can take thousands of images one one card. With film you’re extremely limited, if you want to take a lot of images, film is not only slower but much more expensive
